Morningside Nylen College of Nursing

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Does anyone know about Morningside College of Nursing? It is located in Sioux City, IA......any information will be appreciated.

Have you attended this school M8cysmom?

Yes. I am in second semester.

How is it? I am thinking to apply to the AGNP program.

Do you mind sharing your experience with me? I am eager to know. Thank you M8cysmom

Are nursing instructors helpful? Are you doing full time or part time? Do you work while going to school? Are you living in Iowa?

I am living in MN, sounds like I will need to find clinical sites in Iowa due to MN does not accept NP students from Iowa.

You have to make sure your state board of nursing accepts the program.

I live in AZ. My experience so far has been wonderful (other than the fact I’m in school lol). The instructors are amazing. You do not have to wait for email replies because they give you their cell phone numbers. I am FT but I only work one day per week. You will not be successful working full time and going to school full time. There is so much to learn and homework. You do have to travel to Iowa a few times throughout the program. I went there in the spring for skills days. It was a great experience. Please feel free to ask any other questions. I am very happy that I found Morningside.

Would you recommend to do this program full time while working.6 FTE?

How are exams in each class?

Does school provide PowerPoint or study materials related to exams?

When I went to the ADN, I felt like even though school provided PowerPoint and lectures but 50% of the exams were from outside of objectives. That was frustrating! But I survived.

Are you asking about BSN or FNP?

Nope, I am asking your experience on your NP at Morningside college.

I have never gone to NP program. I would like to know if you get a good experience with Morningside NP program. How your course platforms deliver? Are they manageable?

If you can compare to your BSN or ADN programs that you have gone through?

Are they almost the same amount of studying or overload?

For my experience, my ADN was so overloaded and overwhelming. I love my BSN the most, it’s so much manageable.

You will not be able to work full time with full time study. There is too much to learn and too much homework. I literally do 40-50 hours a week of homework and study.
