More Strange Baby Names

this might not mean much to you guys in the states as i don't think you get "neighbours" (aussie soap) out there, do you? anyhow, these names aren't really that strange - i just cannot believe that their parents (who lived in my village) called them these in the same family - jason, kylie, scott and charlene!! also, there were two kids at my school who were called rupert bear and teddy bear....seriously!!

My husband is a teacher... He has a set of twins in his class right now named Emperor and President

and there are a couple of "out of the box" baby names in my family.

My son's name is Ren (after Kevin Bacon's character in "Footloose")

My nephew is Banner Bragg

My cousin's baby is Briar Chastain

I have a good friend that named her baby Corbin Bryce.... He has his daddy's name for the middle name, but I had never heard of Corbin.. sounds very distinguished.

The strangest I've ever heard was Darkus River (can you guess the last name? Yep, waters)

kittylouise......Hi, I am embarrassed to ask this, but, seeing that I've completely missed your point, can you please explain? What are "neighbours" (aussie soap), and how does this relate to the four seemingly normal sounding names, jacob, kylie, scott and charlene (four different names of soaps)? Now, Rupert and Teddy...I'll bet that one was bi-Polar and the other was employed by Kodiak! LOL. I knew of a family ith the last name of Beach.......children were Rocky, Sandy, Coral and, you guessed it, Pebbles.

Hi AngelGirl. Sorry if I was confusing! By Aussie soap - I meant a soap opera, not a bar of soap. There were two people in it called Scott and Charlene and they were played by Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue. That was all - not that funny really! But I remember thinking it was funny at the time and, well, earlier I was just bored at work and thought I would share it with you all! :roll

My dad said he went to school with a guy named Kent Barkus, but they called him Bent Carcus.

My sister in law is named Barkha (She is from India)

My niece's name is Tiara.

Then again, my name isn't that normal.

Thanks for the Corbin sightings - I don't think my sis knew of either of those people/characters, but then again she must have heard the name somewhere, right?

My birth father had 4 kids with his 2nd wife (my stepmum) - boy called Sharif, 3 girls called Sharda, Noor and Amina. All very respectable Sufi names but a little out of place in Sydney, Australia, especially since they were all very fair and very Aussie I was named after him. He is a Francis and so were his father and grandfather. I was the first female firstborn. My sis is a Cecily, after our great uncle Cecil. Never met the man but could never forget about him.

Neighbours comes up with some doozies....Toadfish Rebecchi with his brothers Stonefish and Tad (as in tadpole).....Boyd and Summer (played by actors called Kyal and Marisa).....Character called Nina played by actress/singer Delta Goodrem.
