Moorpark College ADN Fall 2024

Published

Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those who have applied to the moorpark nursing program for Fall admission! I've seen previous threads where people start receiving admission decisions in March so I thought it was appropriate time to start the thread since were reaching the end of February.

Does anyone know what the critical thinking pretest consist of?

I do not! But I don't think you can study for it other than have your brain in good working condition. Maybe if we can find someone who's taken it?!

Welcome!

Hi there everyone! Hope you've all been having a good start to the week. Question! I'm a little confused as to #15 on the required texts (I added a highlighted image). Is anybody able to explain what exactly this requirement is? Just an app? Do we need to download the Drug & Lab handbooks onto it? I'm very confused about this. Thank you so much in advance!

15. For Drug and Lab/Diagnostic handbooks: Handheld device application for nurses highly recommended:

    "Pepid" (http://www.pepid.com/nursing-student) or

    "Nursing Central" (http://nursing.unboundmedicine.com/nursingcentral/up)

You can get these actual books. But they are saying you can also purchase an app for phone which is easier/preferred. I'll include a screenshot. They're about 40$ each and also they have an app that includes all of them for like $180. You can see the apps at bottom of screenshot. Nursing central is the one that includes all for one fee. They give two weeks free so I'm doing that as a trial before I purchase these apps.

Yes! This was my understanding as well! Also, for anyone who has started the reading would you say that it is dense (in comparison to like anatomy/phys/chem courses)?
