Montgomery College Spring 2016

Published

Hi-

Has anyone received an acceptance letter for the spring 2016 nursing program at Montgomery college?

Well we will have everyone refer to deadsweetie and ASJ94 from now on if they have any questions since they clearly paid the most attention during orientation lol.

I'm planning on working! Full time if I can. I work in a hospital as a CNA, so the schedule kind of works out. I'm so so so excited to be able to work and start school.

@cmblanc you are sooo sweet :inlove:

[emoji5]️ Anyyyyybody else gonna work and go to school? It's great that the MC program allows you to go to school and also have days for you to do other life activities lol

I'm planning to continue working, hopefully I'll be able to do so

I am glad to know that there will be enough of us that will be working and going to school. What kind of jobs do you guys have? Is it health-related? I'm working as a volunteer recruiter for a clinicial trial center, I'm debating if I should find another job that is more nursing related or close enough to it?

I'll be working and it's nothing health science related. I would love to work with nursing related jobs but my job now pays too well for me to leave and I need the money to get me through school so..haha

Working as a CNA is invaluable for the experience and the foot in the door you get. It's awesome to work 12 hour shifts and learn how to interact with patients and do the technical stuff. A clinical instructor told me I could teach the Fundamentals of nursing class because that's exactly what being a CNA is. In fact I think you can work as a CNA without taking the course after your first semester of nursing school. It is however less valuable for the amount you get paid. If you are enjoying your job I don't see why you should leave since we'll all get experience during clinicals!

Hey so whoever is coming for registration tomorrow make sure you show up before 9. Due to the rain and traffic I arrive at 10:04 and they sent me home. If you don't register you don't get your spot so make it there early

Does anyone have an idea what books come with the package? What books are mandatory? Can we buy used? Or have any idea when our uniforms come in?

There is a list in the packet they gave us that has the books for each class and specifies those that are required and recommended. They said used is okay just make sure it's the correct edition. Sometime in January for the uniforms I guess, i haven't received an email yet.

Hi! I have the assignments for NURS 121 and NURS 114 but didn't see one for NURS 113. Did I lose the sheet, or did we not have an assignment for that yet? If someone could fill me in, that would be great. Thanks!

I believe the sheet we have for 113 is the first week schedule that goes over what we're doing for theory the first week and clinical. It just says to read Taylor chapters 23 and 26, bring syllabus and course guide, and then get the bundle codes.
