I noticed there wasn't a thread for the MC Spring 2011 cycle so I thought I would get one started. The waiting game can be a bit stressful and filled with anxiety so hopefully we can support each other along the way.
I submitted my application mid June. I went on the website earlier today and noticed they extended the deadline to August 1st?! Guess that means more waiting to hear back from them. They probably did that to allow more people to apply. I know they mentioned at the information session that they were practically begging people to apply for the Spring program last year. They even had empty seats left (meaning they were able to accept anyone who met the minimum TEAS score requirements). They had only about 200 poeple apply for Spring as opposed to about 400 that apply for Fall. I'm hoping that works in our favor.
I've only completed the EN 101 prereq and am registered for A&P1 in Fall. I'm hoping that my TEAS score (Mid 80s) helps me out a bit. I guess we'll see...

I called them to see when they'd let us know since they say early Nov for formality sakes, but in the past have let people know in October. The lady was a bit rude (perhaps she's tired of answering these questions) and said "late October to early November" and hung up.
The suspense is killing me! I applied in early June so it's been 4 months now! I know my chances are decent so I'm not necessarily too worried, but I just want to know for sure so I can plan things out. I feel like there's a lot to get done as far as getting the immunizations, CPR, etc. Not to mention having to leave my full-time job and finding a part-time gig. I'm going to try to calm down though and just wait it out. Good luck to everyone. Let us know if you hear any news.
I got a letter a month or two ago that said we would find out before November.
I know what you mean about the suspense... I race home to check the mailbox every day. The wait has been long enough already! But calm down naija only a week or two left.
No not yet. I just saw the post about people finding out a few days ago?! I'm freaking out over here. Haha What worries me is that during the information session they said if you're not admitted they won't contact you, because they don't have the time to send out rejection letters (which I think is ridiculous). So she said we could call and they would let us know over the phone. Well I've been calling and no one has answered the phone. According to the main admissions office, they are short staffed today. I called my mom and she just said there is no mail. I'm getting a little sad, but still holding out hope. Good luck again and congrats to those who have gotten in.
Well you just made me feel better. I didn't get one yet either. Hopefully they are just letting in people who were previously rejected or were on a waiting list or something. Or maybe they do it in batches, sending out letters every two weeks. If you hear anything new please let us know. I think our chances are still good.
Well I got my rejection letter in the mail yesterday, and I was bummed at first, but I'm ok with it now. After all I only had 1/4 pre reqs done and it was more of a shot in the dark with nothing to lose. Going to re-group and try for UMB or HCC, and perhaps MC Fall. Hope you had better luck and that those who did get in can use this thread to get to know their future classmates!

We seem to have the same faith. I got MC rejected also. It killed me and got me stressed out waiting to hear from UMD which accepted me to start at Shady Grove. I think MC counts the pre-req up to spring 2010 for fall 2011 admission. I took A&P1-2 in summer and now only have Microbiology left.
I'm glad it turned out this way because UMD is on top of my list.

Definitely try applying for Fall 2011 admission! I heard back on Oct 22nd that I got in! Pretty nervous!
