I noticed there wasn't a thread for the MC Spring 2011 cycle so I thought I would get one started. The waiting game can be a bit stressful and filled with anxiety so hopefully we can support each other along the way.
I submitted my application mid June. I went on the website earlier today and noticed they extended the deadline to August 1st?! Guess that means more waiting to hear back from them. They probably did that to allow more people to apply. I know they mentioned at the information session that they were practically begging people to apply for the Spring program last year. They even had empty seats left (meaning they were able to accept anyone who met the minimum TEAS score requirements). They had only about 200 poeple apply for Spring as opposed to about 400 that apply for Fall. I'm hoping that works in our favor.
I've only completed the EN 101 prereq and am registered for A&P1 in Fall. I'm hoping that my TEAS score (Mid 80s) helps me out a bit. I guess we'll see...
I look forward to hearing from some more people! :)

Don't worry...they will take you. Befor the MC college used to take only if you finished en102,A&P 204 AND 205, but now since they want to take more students, they don't ask for thos prerequisite anymore. I am taking my teas test next week for the third time and if you can help me with the reading part I would be so happy. I passed all the parts, but I am struggling with the reading part. The first time I just wanted to see how the test would be,but the second time I was out of time and did not finish the questions. Now I have one more chance to take the test and I am nervouse. Please I need your help.
my email is [email protected]
Thank you in advance
Thanks nadia. I sure hope so. The reading part on the TEAS test can be a bit tricky because sometimes 2 answers seem like they could be correct. I sent you an email offering any help that you may need.

i was going to apply for spring admission, but i talked with judy, and told her i wanted to complete anatomy 204, and finish my stats class this summer before applying, i scored an 86 on the TEA's exam, just wanted to wait until i finished all my prereqs
Collegets: You did really well on your TEAS test. Congrats! I don't blame you for wanting to finish your pre reqs beforehand. I heard it can be tough to battle Anatomy with the 1st year nursing courses. I was going to do the same, but decided to take a shot in the dark and try my luck for Spring since it's less competitive.
I noticed you said you want to take Stat as your math course. Are you planning on transferring to a BSN program? I know Stat is a requirement for some of those programs.
i have decided to go for my BSN, and leave MC at the end of the Fall semester, thinking about going to 4 year program, which takes about the same time as a 2 year degree

I turned in my application at the end of July. I only have two of the four ranking courses completed, I still have to complete en 102 and bio 205 which I am both taking in the fall.
I scored an 85 on the TEAS test, and I didn't have enough time to take it over after the august extension. I ran out of time for the math section, which I am still so angry about because that's one of my best subjects..
I am soooo nervous, but our chances are definitely better in the spring in comparison to the fall.
btw... the application deadline was extended because additional funds were allocated for the nursing program , which means more spots are available for spring enrollment :-D
Good luck I hope to see all of you in the Spring!
@ Collegets: Best of luck! The BSN does turn out to be about the same as timeframe as the ASN so it's definitely worth going for if you can.
@ DC_Starr: Thanks for sharing. I'm so glad to hear the deadline extension was due to more open slots! Makes me feel so much better. I've been freaking out over here, because I would hate to have to reapply keep waiting to start the program. I graduated college in 2009 and am so eager to start my nursing career. Glad to know my chances are that much better now. Sorry to hear about you running out of time on the TEAS. I barely finished the Math section in time. I think I only had 2 minutes left. Sounds like you did great nonetheless. Let's keep our fingers crossed :)
Anyone else out there who applied for next semester? We're supposedly supposed to hear back by November, but in the past looks like thye let some people know in October. Anyone know about this? The waiting game sucks! Best of luck to everyone.

I also applied for the Spring at MC. I had 2 of the 4 courses completed when I applied I think, maybe only one, and my TEAS score was in the mid 90s. I also applied to UMB, so MC is my backup. I bet we'll start to hear from MC in a week or two. Good luck naija and anyone else who applied. It sounds like they're desperate for applicants, so no need to worry.
Thanks Jimmyjohn! Good luck to you too. When do you find out about UMB? Sounds like you're a shoe in for MC, and probably UMB as well.
well my GPA is not very good, so i doubt im a shoe in, but UMB should let me know in early november. truthfully i dont care where i go, i just really want to get started!
