Montgomery College Nursing Spring 2022

Published

Hello everyone !! I decided to create this thread for anyone applying to Montgomery College Spring 2022 nursing program in Takoma Park, MD. Did you guys finish all your priority courses?  Have you taken the TEAS? Have you already submitted your application? The deadline is August 1st and we will be receiving an answer via email sometime in September. Let's support each other through this entire journey and share our experiences.

It's an either/or situation. If you have a prior degree, you get 3 points. If you've finished some credits but not a full degree, you get the 2 or 1 points. The total amount of points you can get if you have perfect on everything is 27.

To answer your other question, if you've repeated any of the prereqs, you lose points for those categories. For example if you passed A&P1 on the first try, you get 4 points. If you retook it and passed on the second try, you lose a point for that class and only get 3 points. Hope this helped!

Thank you so much. That clears things up for me ? Also, do you know if anyone has gotten in with a 2.5 GPA? I wanted to know if it  is even worth me trying. I am an out of county student. If I don’t take one of my science courses for the third time, I will have 21 points with a 2.5 science GPA, but if I do repeat the course for a second time, it will just boost me to a 22 and change my science GPA from 2.5 to a 3.5. Would I even have a chance?

Don't forget every time you repeat a course you lose another point, so it's probably best to just stick with your current attempt despite the grade. 21 points should be strong, especially since they take around 120 people!

OK thank you so much for answering my questions.

hey, I was wondering for those of you guys who got In what grades did you guys have for the pre-requisites and for the TEAS what was your score, I'm currently a nova student at a Community college but I want to consider applying to other programs.

@Ligny Majano you do need prerequisites for ADN it’s A&P  2401 & 2402 English 1301 that’s all you need to apply and a best score around 88+ but once you apply you need to get Microbiology 2420 & pharmacology!! I was recently accepted to nh ADN and taking my micro & pharm! Micro is kicking my butt!!

@Belen

I have both A&P completed I received a B in both, And both Eng-101 and 102 college writing classes with an A , I’m just still studying for the TEAS, were you a md student or out of county student? I really want to consider applying this fall if those are main prerequisites I also completed psychology and sociology and other gen ED electives .

@Ligny Majano I know the application nursing program for fall 2022 has already closed, but the application time for Spring 2023 is still open, so apply to the College and apply for the nursing program before August 1st; finish the TEAS and have your transcripts sent over. I am an out-of-county student in MD. It's good to call the program and try to speak to an advisor to find out what your next step should be in case you have anything missing or to make yourself more competitive. They use a point system, so factor in your grades (which look good to me), how many attempts, previous education, and TEAS (the higher above the minimum score the better). I hope this helps ?

@Ligny Majano I am actually a nursing student at lone star in Texas! I got on this thread because I was applying to lone star  Montgomery county!  But I took the HESI not TEAS and IDK about the school you are in but for us you need atleast 1 A in the anatomy prerequisites or your chances are slim to none even if you score super high! Also need an A in English.

Anyone here applied for Spring 2025? 😄
