Montgomery College, how long?

Published

I sent in my application for the fall at Montgomery College today. The deadline is March 1st. Does anyone know about how long I can expect to wait before I get an answer?

Thx,

Nikki

I've outlined important dates/deadlines for my convenience and thought I'd share:

June 21 @ 1pm – orientation

July 15 – required/due

criminal background check via PreCheck Inc

CPR cert

Health history

July 26 @ 12pm – registration

Aug 15 – drug and alcohol testing via Labcorp

GM girls,

I'm corresponding w/ bluelilmunkie. She got her physical, bloodwork, vacc/titers done @ UMB- CP health center. She didn't have ins. at the time and was able to get all that done at a reasonable cost.

My registration date : July 26 @ 12

Marissa must be away. We should have heard something by now...

Tina- I'm 40, no kids (yet). New career move for me also.

Hey ladies, Congrats to all of you. I live in an apartment building, so my certified notice was in our mailbox Sat. afternoon, well after the post office closed. I will pick it up first thing Tuesday morning then post the good news here. I haven't been checking my email for the last day or so. I'm sorry that I missed your posts, but I'm very happy for everyone and I hope to join you in your celebrations very, very soon. :)

Hey Marissa, we were wondering about you. Looking forward to you post on Tue. Have a great weekend!

Wow Marissa, you are so calm about it. I'd be biting my nails and pulling out my hair if I had to wait until Tues. You must have a very laid back, go with the flow personality. I could use some of that if you ever decide to sell it by the bottle. ;-)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you Marissa! Hope to hear good news from you soon :)

I may be jumping the gun a little bit here...but I did a comparison of the prices of books from MC versus on Amazon.com and there is a pretty significant difference. I'm thinking I'm going to go ahead and order my books on-line rather than buy them from the bookstore. They are really expensive; even the used books are more expensive than the brand-new ones they're selling on Amazon. Seems way more practical to me. Is anyone else thinking of doing this or something similar?

I took a look on Amazon. Why is the bookstore so expensive?! I used the ISBN to search textbooks but the publishing dates seem to be different. The courses for 1st sem. are NU105, NU110 lec. and lab, and NU 121, correct? I have them in the cart: so far about $186 for new books, haven't decided on purchasing new or used.

I got closer to $370 for all the books, required and recommended. Haven't ordered anything yet, but it looks like some of the books have limited quantities left so I think I'm gonna order soon...

Nikki-I read your comment to Beth and she started laughing (I was chuckling too). I am anything but laid back and carefree, esp. when it comes to my education, but for some odd reason, I've been very low-key about waiting to hear back from MC. I truly feel like I've already been accepted b/c I've done all of the hard work---taking and doing well in Micro. and A & P I & II, and then studying for (including working with a math tutor for one month) and passing the TEAS. In my mind, I'm already in. I just need the letter to confirm it. But, don't get me wrong, I'm just as nervous as everyone else is about what lies ahead. I just have to keep telling myself that I can do it and never give up, no matter what happens.

I'm looking forward to meeting you all soon.

Marissa

Andrea- Where did you get the list of recommended books? Also, the dept. doesn't have a required book listed for the lab portion of NU 110, unless I misses that somewhere.

Marissa- I'm 99.99% certain you have been accepted and looking forward to the good news.

Enjoy today everyone, looks like a perfect day for the pool!
