Here is our new thread ladies (Nikki, Andrea, Kristian, Marissa...and whoever else will be starting at MC this fall).
Hubby woke up w/ a sore throat and our dog is feeling off, vomited this morning... I'm wondering if I'm next lol!
Nikki, how's the cough? I hope you're feeling better now.
The Clinical Drug Therapy book I was waiting for never got here-waited for a month. Ordered a second copy from Textbooks, got it in 3 days- have all 9 now. You guys received all books also, right? And did you decide on what type of bag you'll be using for school and clinical? I'm still looking around.
Thoughts on this one?
I still haven't received a reply from D. Matthews about my packet-sent her another message. She's probably tired of all the emails.
OMG!!!! A friend of mine just informed me that they lowered their reading score requirement for the TEAS! I guess it doesn't matter now that we are all in but man, I can't begin to express how stressed that section made me. If you all want to see...

Sorry your husband is feeling ill Kristian. Sleep on the cough! ;-) Seems that there is all kinds of stuff going around. I am feeling better but do still cough. I think the antibiotic gave me a YI. ugh.
I am still waiting on my Health Assessments textbook. I tried to file a complaint yesterday but it wouldn't let me do it for one more day according to normal delivery ranges for media mail. So I have to go do that now. Not sure what to do. The lady I purchased it from had good reviews, but oddly she has another of the same book listed. Hmmm.
I haven't decided on a bag for school yet. I think something with wheel will be easier on my back, given the heft of those things, but someone made a point of steps being an issue. I will likely just use my messenger bag for clinicals.
Wow, they lowered it by 5%! The scores must have been quite low. Why couldn't they have adjusted sooner-my friend could have benefited from that.
Thanks Nikki. We're hoping the sore throat is allergy related. YI's are a pain.
The seller may have another copy of the book, but something seems off. I'd def. get that complaint filed before the deadline. Where did you get it?
My hubby is begging me not to use what he calls a rolly pulley. He was tired of tripping over and being held-up by them on the train/subway when he was commuting downtown. Traveling light may not be an option, so I might have to use one.
Ya, it is a huge difference is score. I know a lot of people struggled with the reading. Actually it was Edita (Lidith) that told me about it. She scored well and is certain to get in. She also told me they extended their deadline for spring so your friend may have time.
I've never used a rolly pulley before but it might be beneficial. We do what we need to do. ;-) I don't want to strain my back and then not be able to do my clinicals. LOL.
Yes, I've gotten all my books too. Some of them look a little scary...lol
I can't believe that about the scores! I kinda thought they were low already, although I'm not complaining! I wonder if the demand for nursing students is becoming that much higher?
I have no idea what kind of bag I'm going to use. I think it will depend on my schedule. If I have 3 classes in one day, I may also go with a bag-on-wheels (there are elevators in that building right?). If not, I may just go with a regular backpack. I'm still considering that nursing bag I posted last time for clinicals. Here it is again:
I agree. I think 66% for the composite score is low (that requirement hasn't changed). As for the reading score, I'm sure there are many ppl glad to see that's been lowered. It seems to me there isn't a shortage of nursing students, almost everyone in my last 2 semester of courses were applying to a nursing program. But graduating is entirely different. From what your classmate in CPR said, we can expect a long, tough (yet hopefully rewarding) road ahead.
The Nursemates bag looks like the perfect size to carry clinical supplies. I'm trying to find a bag that I can carry both school and clinical stuff. I chose to go with the CalPak bag. Got the blue so my hubby can also use it, if he wants.

Nikki, I hope you feel better soon! I can't imagine being that sick in the summer, AND right before your son's birthday party
I hope this means you guys have no illnesses this winter
