Montgomery College, Fall 2011, 1st semester students

Here is our new thread ladies (Nikki, Andrea, Kristian, Marissa...and whoever else will be starting at MC this fall).

Sorry Kristian. Perhaps talking to your physician could help clear up any confusion you have. I was told a positive PPD doesn't necessarily mean that you have it but that you could have been exposed to it. Let us know how your xray is.

So sorry to hear of your bump in the road Kristian. I'm sure it will all get cleared up. Even if it is positive, you can still do the program if your chest x-ray comes up clear. If you haven't had any symptoms, I would assume the results would come back fine. Please keep us updated!

Thanks girls. I don't understand how it could have been missed w/ all the TB tests I've had. At some point I've been exposed somehow-either the vacc or from someone w/ active TB. I don't have any symptoms, but I'm still worried. It would be awful to come this far and not be able to start the program and worse possibly have TB. I've heard situations where ppl were required to take meds even w/ a cleared xray.

Nikki, sorry to hear about your situation. It's prob. nothing to worry about. I'll keep you guys posted, pls cross your fingers!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and you keep yours crossed for me :-)

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for both of you!! :)

Got my medical dictionary. It's really nice and has great illustrations...but pretty heavy! I'm either gonna need a sturdy backpack or I'll just have to leave it at home or in my car lol

Andrea, I wonder if the nurse you saw was talking about me! Mine wasn't a big bubble, though.

I got 6 books today. I hope I get to use them this semester...I'm trying not to freak out!

I'm sure they're seeing TONS of MC nursing students right now so she may have been talking about someone else.

I hope most of these books will be used for the entire duration of the program. That way, each semester we'll have to buy less and less!

Kristian - have you done any online research regarding your TB situation? Maybe you will find some answers, or at least some comfort, until you are able to speak with a doctor about it or get final results.

I'm still waiting for my other textbooks. Amazon says not to expect them until like July 6!

OMG, I've been all over the place researching anything and everything I can!! I tend to be a worry wart, so I'm letting my mind get the best of me right now. My hubby keeps telling me it's going to be ok...
