Montgomery College, Fall 2011, 1st semester students

Published

Here is our new thread ladies (Nikki, Andrea, Kristian, Marissa...and whoever else will be starting at MC this fall).

Specializes in Future CRNA or Nurse Practitioner.

Ostchega has a very thick accent, which I am a little worried about. But she seems nice enough, so maybe it won't be too much of a problem. Do you have 110 from 12-3:50 Nikki? You probably have at least large lecture with my friend Susie. I think I introduced you guys at orientation. She's a short blonde that kind of looks like Kate Bosworth from Blue Crush lol (I always tell her that!).

I have 121 tomorrow from 2-4:50. Kristian had it today and all I remember her saying about it was that it was long lol.

LOL, Andrea! It felt long. We got to pair up w/ another person and do role playing as a nurse and patient/client...from introduction to communication to head to toe assessment. It was fun. So far I've gotten a good first impressions of all my instructors.

Hey, better to have forgotten to use the recorder today then later on in the semester, right? ;)

Wow, that's a lot of material for one exam. Don't know how I'm going to cram all this info into my brain.

Nikki, I was watching for you today. Thought we'd at least see one another in the hallways.

I'm hitting the sack girls. I can barely even keep my eyes open anymore. Maybe I'll run into you tomorrow. Otherwise, have a great clinical orientation! :)

Yes, Andrea. I have 110 from 12-3:50. I agree that Ostchega's accent is a bit thick. Hopefully they do all take turns like Robinson told us today. Davis was a really good lecturer.

Have a great day tomorrow, Andrea! Nikki, see ya at lab/clinical! Oh, Prof. Mansir told us to wait at the student lounge for her and she'll come get us @ 3:15 (I can't remember which floor that is).

I think it was the 3rd floor Kristian. I think where we had registration sign up. I could be wrong but we can easily figure it out once we get there. T/W is going to be difficult with naptime for Liam. I have to drop him off when he would normally be napping. He hardly napped yesterday before the sitter came to pick him up. Going to try to put him down earlier than usual for an hour. He usually naps for 2-3+ hours. I really hope this new schedule doesn't mess him up.

Krisitan - did you get the stuff for 121 before your class on MyMC? How does that class look? I saw we have a quiz and homework each week. But no exams?

I reread the syllabus and yes, it is on the 3rd floor. She said last night that she'll email the rest of the class as to where to meet...so far no email.

I'm sure it's difficult to get everyone's schd. in order. It may take a little time for Liam to adjust to the new schd. Heck, I'm trying to adjust to mine and at times I feel like I don't know what is going on lol.

My instructor didn't have anything on mymc prior to our class. She told us yesterday that our stuff should be available on blackboard and will confirm. So far, I haven't seen anything.

Yeah, we have quizzes and assignments every wk. It's a supplemental class for 110 where we learn all the clinical skills for practice in the lab and perform @ clinicals. My instructor has a heavy accent and she's a little hard to understand when she talks fast.

Are we suppose to have any other assignments done for our class today (besides the module)?

Who do you have for 121? Did it seem like a lot of work? Is it basically all lab then?

My mentor emailed me this morning to see how it went yesterday. Thoughtful of her.

I don't think we have anything else due today aside from reading the Safety chapter.

I have Geetha Kada. Yes, it's mainly lab and you'll need your lab coat. It may not be required the first wk, though. No one in my class brought one.

If you have yours, bring it today. Prof. Mansir mentioned it last night, but it being the first wk, she'll prob let it slide. That was thoughtful of your mentor. Who's you mentor?

Reminder: bring your copy of the chain of custody. I thought the school got a copy. Do you remember any instructions telling us to include a copy?

FYI, they do not get our lab results.

I wasn't planning on getting my uniform stuff until Fri/Sat since no one seems to be requiring it this week. We'll see if Mansir requires it tomorrow.
