Here is our new thread ladies (Nikki, Andrea, Kristian, Marissa...and whoever else will be starting at MC this fall).

Yes, 08/07 is on my sheet. And since they're closed for the wknd, I guess the lady who set my appt thought today was close enough. I don't get the confusion cuz when I called to reschd. my appt to have both Hep B and the 2nd titer done together, the lady who was on duty told me specifically that it's not a problem to delay a sec. shot for a few days or so, but the titer had to be done at least a month from the shot and the date for the 2nd Hep B was fine.

Oh man, so sorry Andrea! I'll have to reread your post thoroughly after I get back for more details. As I posted earlier, I was never asked what tests I needed.

Our specimens should be shipped out anyway and be done at another facility, they would know what was ordered and have specific instructions. These employees at Labcorp have no clue...

Just out of curiosity...did you guys give the LabCorp person your PreCheck confirmation to keep? Cuz the woman that gave me all this trouble barely looked at mine on Friday when I showed it to her, let alone keep it. I thought maybe she was familiar with what needed to be done, so I didn't press it any further. But maybe that's what the problem was the whole time?

Andrea, that was some messed up situation.

That place was so chaotic, there were even children screaming and crying; may have been one of the employee's kids. I saw only three employees at that time and two of them were in the back doing other things. With a room full of irritated ppl who are about to wet themselves cuz they've already been waiting for two hrs, it would've made a whole lot of sense to have more than one person administering the tests.

She never asked for the PreCheck confirmation and when I tried to show it to her, she wanted to see my Labcorp appt confirmation instead.

Far as I know, the extent of their job is to collect, seal, and ship specimens to where-ever. They don't have the details of what's ordered. The facility that will do the testing will know everything that needs to be done. I have a feeling they used to do the breath test for alcohol So, she's thinking no breath test means no alcohol test.

Don't worry, I'm sure it'll be updated on PreCheck soon.

I was able to find a bunch of stuff. It was five below, not the dollar store as I thought (the one in G'Town near Middle Brook Rd). I got spiral notebooks, spiral index cards, mechanical pencils, post-its, filler paper and a compartmentalized file folder for about $18.

I completely forgot about the steth being delivered today, carrier left a note on my door. Darn it! Did yours arrive? Nikki, they only sent forceps?

Both my stethoscope and my Redding supplies came today. The initial engraving on the instruments isn't very noticeable but I guess it'll do since it was free anyway. My penlight kind of sucks. It doesn't click on like I wanted it to. I have to turn the end of it and even then, it doesn't stay on...I pretty much have to hold it with two hands to get it to work. Definitely gonna have to get another one, but shouldn't be a huge problem since I only paid $2 for the one I got. Instrument holder is decent, haven't taken the BP cuff out of the box yet, and haven't tried on the hip clip yet but it looks a little cheap (but what did I expect for $5?) The stethoscope is pretty awesome :) Much lighter than I thought it would be, and I got the Classic II, so I can't imagine how light the lightweight will be for you Nikki. I at first thought the color was navy cuz it was kind of dark in the room, but in the light it definitely looks purple. I was worried I couldn't hear anything with it at first, but then I read the little booklet that came with it that said you have to turn the chestpiece til it clicks and use the earplugs that were included to amplify the sound better. Haven't tried any of that yet. Still not done with laundry and packing. Dominic is eating dinner now, then I'm giving him a bath and putting him to bed so I can finish what I need to finish before my friend and her hubby need to be picked up from the bus station at 11:00pm. Glad everything got here safe and sound though :)

I know what you mean about being away from your son for vacation Andrea. After Liam was born, my aunt an uncle came to visit (from PA) and offered to take Lucas for the week. I jumped all over it as did he. It was just nice to have some quiet time with the little one and not have to also be looking after an older one. And Dirk and I have been talking about dropping the kids off with my dad in AZ at some point once Liam is a little older so we can go to San Diego or Hawaii by ourselves. I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO need that.

Nope, only got my forceps today. No word on the rest of my order.

Maybe the penlight is defective? I got mine as a kit so it may be a different brand (ADC Adlite II #354). It turns on when the clip is pushed and turns off when released.

I can't wait to get my steth. I'm so jealous.

Have a great time in OC, you deserve it especially after all the chaos you've experienced!

Oh, and have some mojitos on my behalf. Man, I wish I tolerated alcohol better. I have an allergy to most, makes me very red and sometimes causes wheezing.

Actually, just looked at my invoice. The stetho and other items are to be shipped within 3-5 business days so they should go out tomorrow at the latest. I hope it isn't junk. I was just really concerned with spending a decent chunk of change on a Littmann only to have it stolen. So hopefully the reviews are true.

Hawaii sounds AMAZING!!!! That is my dream destination! I've been to the Caribbean twice on cruises and the water was gorgeous (I'd definitely do it again!) but I want to go to Hawaii for the beauty on land AND in the water! Plus, they're lifestyle over there is just so perfect :) I hope you and your hubby do get to do something like that soon. It's so important to nurture your sanity every now and then lol!

Ok, dumb question: are forceps the same as a hemostat? Are you able to track the order Nikki?

Awww Kristian! I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't have a margarita or mojito without getting an allergy! Lol although I must say my tolerance has gone waaaay down since having my son. 1 beer now does what 3 beers did for me pre-baby lol.

That looks like the penlight I have. I think yours is defective.

Nikki, totally understand about the $$. I'm sure the one you ordered will work well. We are also paying a higher price for the Littman name.
