YAY Kristian!!! I'm so jealous! I hope I get my stuff today too! I'm glad the BP cuff is a good quality. I was worried it would be cheap since the price was so low. I just tracked my stethoscope and you're right...it left NJ last night at 9:16. Expected delivery is for August 4th and I think it's going to need a signature, which makes me not want to leave the house at all tomorrow but I have to since I have to go to LabCorp and my son's 2 playdates :p

Nikki, that's so funny!! She probably was taken by surprise of your extensive scope knowledge lol. I'm guessing she is a medical assistant?

I hope you get yours today! It was fun playing w/ all the diff stuff. I'm going to have my hubby take my BP, hard to do w/out a steth but we'll try anyway.

Maybe you can make an arrangement w/ a neighbor to sign for you and stick a note on your door for your carrier? (I don't think you can submit specific instructions for that on USPS's website.)

I know, Nikki's catching everyone off guard w/ her extensive knowledge lol! I'm still cracking up about the conversation you had w/ the ER nurse!

Ya, I'm sure she was just a medical assistant. She said she had taken some classes at a vocational college in VA and MC wouldn't take ANY of her classes for credit so she is starting over again. This includes math and english. I told her to see a counselor to see what she needs. But I told her to take the math assessment test and told her she should inquire if there is something similar for english. Someone had apparently told her all she needed was Bi107 and English, which couldn't be true if they didn't take any transfer credits.

That sucks she had to start over. Long way to go...

Hopefully she's at an age where time isn't an issue.

Ok, so I tried out the BP unit AKA sphygmomanometer by using pulse and I was actually able to read it. My first reading was 115/70, second was 113/68; my usual BP readings. Excited to test it out when the steth arrives.

That's awesome you were able to do your own BP. And a good BP it is.

Awesome job taking your BP Kristian! If you can do it without a steth, I'm sure you'll be great with one! :)

The reading is starting to get a little intense. I'm about halfway through Chapter 34 and it is no longer a review of Micro. Alot of talk about different types of infection, who is most susceptible, how to prevent it...seems pretty basic, right? Well, they're getting to the nitty gritty of it all and I'm starting to worry just a little lol. Trying to keep my enthusiasm up, but not sure how long that'll last...

To be so young again...that's great she knows which career path she wants to take. She can have a long, promising career ahead; I'm envious.

Still guilty of not making much progress in the reading dept, only read another few pgs. I'd better get crackin or I'll be kicking myself.

Just got an email from Professor Matthews apologizing that I need to pick up another lab form (no charge) from the nursing dept b/c of the mistake with my lab. Ugh! :p I hope I don't get the same incompetent woman that I saw on Friday...I'll smack her if I do!

I'm glad you got it before making another trip there. So, another trip to TP/SS campus...

I couldn't make an appt until 1:45 tomorrow :( But I guess that's good cuz it gives me enough time to run over to MC for my student ID and lab form...might as well do both while I'm there. I hope there are no misunderstandings tomorrow. And, like you said Kristian, I hope for her sake she is not there tomorrow! Lol
