#Yaaaaaaay WE did it! We've come a long way guys & gals. So excited and humbled by the whole experience of being accepted into the Nursing School fraternity. This upcoming 2 year journey has me anxious/nervous & happy for what's ahead. I know and don't expect the journey to be easy...but where blessed to be named The 1st Class of MSON. So how's the process going for you all so far?...
Can't wait to meet you ALL @ orientation...
Hey MrsComboCurlz- how did you find your Moodle login info?
Hey, a couple days ago the school sent me the receipt confirming they received my down payment. Attached to it was a letter showing were to log on to moodle with the initial given password that you'll eventually change to your own. If you paid your down payment you should've received it already or very soon.
Your lecture instructor also teaches dosage calc. Prof. J.P. is the Nursing 1 instructor (she's a great person, by the way). The dosage calc is pretty easy. There is a recommended text book called Calculating with confidence, if you want to practice. They teach you to use ratio and proportion to set up the problem. An example of nursing 1 calc is..
The doctor orders a 10mg tablet of XX. On hand, you have 5mg tablets. How many tabs would you give. This is very simple, but they want to see your work using ratio and proportion.

Thanx a lot, you put me at ease ah little. Dosage calc had me gritting my teeth a bit. Just wondering what happens on the orientation days as well? Do we meet with financial aid regarding loans/grants/tuition etc? I appreciate you taking time to answer my questions...
The only thing I remember about the first day orientation was sitting in a class listening to an instructor explain everything, going to the lab for the same thing, and completing paperwork. As of now, I still don't think Montefiore has worked out the financial side. There was talk of Montefiore giving out personal loans to students at the same interest rate of student loans. I haven't heard of any updates to that. As of last week, none of us had paid for the Fall term. We just received a letter indicating that Montefiore is waiving this term's tuition for all current students.. That's a free semester of nursing school! We were all caught off guard, but very happy to hear that. I assume everything will be worked out for the next term.

Yaaaay for you guys...ok will just have to wait and see...thank you
Hi, I am looking to get into this nursing program for Fall of '14 (or wcc) . I attended an open house in October and am very optimistic about attending? Could anyone share their experiences on getting in, Teas scores, etc. I'm determined to get in no matter what it takes. I am just a little apprehensive because of the job market for ADN's in NYC. Money and time are factors, that's why I feel this is the best choice. I am looking forward to hearing from anyone with some great insight !!
Has anyone heard anything re: financial stuff for us? I'm getting a little worried- it seems pretty disorganized still and I'm nervous about committing to this program/buying uniforms/books/etc when it is all still so up in the air if I can even afford to attend!
Divalish- I think they weigh pretty heavily on life experience/work background as well as TEAS scores. I did well on my teas- I think I got an 89%?

Very true, have you called the main office and spoke to Ms ***? She's always willing and able to accommodate students.
