Hello all!

I know it's early to make this thread but I wanted to see who else is planning to apply to this program.

The first open house is in February. Anybody else going?

Don’t you have a test!!!!!

I never got my break down yet they said they would email it to me and I have yet to get it that’s why I’ve been so hesitant to help out people cause I don’t wanna give out the wrong infooooo

Ahaha no I don’t. Even if it’s a different exam than last year I can’t imagine it being much different

Hey guys,

I did a little digging for you (I have too much time on my hands right now ahaha lol) and I looked at my old Kaplan scores. Cochran gives you an in-depth breakdown of the science portion on their results' sheet they give you. I got the same questions/answers for the Kaplan for both Monte and Cochran. I thought I'd share to give you an idea on what systems to focus on and the number of questions I got in each system.

Science breakdown (20 questions)

  1. Cardiovascular system (3)
  2. Fluid/electrolytes (2)
  3. Gastrointestinal (1)
  4. Hematological system (1)
  5. Homeostasis (1)
  6. Immune system (2)
  7. Neurology (4)
  8. Renal system (1)
  9. Respiratory system (4)
  10. Sensory (1)
  • Math - 28 questions
  • Reading - 22 questions
  • Science - 20 questions
  • Writing - 21 questions

Appreciate this so much! Thank you!

I take it you're not a math lover lol I love math, I wish the exam had 80 math questions instead of that writing section uggh lol

Fractions, decimals, and I think one or two dosage questions which surprised me. I remember there was a question about what's bigger, 4, 4%, .004%, something to that effect so you have to know your decimal/percentage rules.

How long after sending in your application did you guys get your testing dates?

I wanna say 4-5 weeks for me

Guys:

I’ve been following this thread for a few months now and after a long wait, I finally received my acceptance letter to College of Mount Saint Vincent for this fall; in which I’ll be finishing clinicals. So I’ve decided to withdraw my application from Montefiore. Best of luck to everyone, be persistent and don’t give up, we will all get there!

Thank you so much! Are they also just finishing their clinicals? I wish I could exchange numbers just to have buddies there lol.

No, they're starting from scratch lol They're starting this fall and have orientations in the next week or so. One is doing the accelerated program and to the other is doing the regular BSN program.
