Montefiore School of Nursing Spring 2016 Applicants

Hello Guys! Figured I'd start a new thread on Montefiore SON for Spring 2016 since I haven't been able to find one. Anyone out there in the process of Applying to their nursing program? I called them yesterday and was told they will be sending out Exam invitations soon. Where are you in your process??

Hello

I applied the end of July and received an invitation letter for the test last week. The test is starting September 25th and runs through October 23rd. Does anyone have information on what they are currently looking at? The lady at the admissions office said that we should try to do very well in our strong areas so that our over all score will be high. I do not have all of my pre-requisites as of yet but I got a B in chemistry. Hopefully, we all do well on the test!

I also choose the 16th and the 17th, so we will probably see each other there. I did not pick the 25th because I wanted more time to prepare. What are you doing to prepare for the A and P section? I just took A and P I, last month and got a B but the invitation states that test is more of A and P II, which I do not have, YIKES!

I just called Montefiore school I was told my invitation to test was mailed on monday. Just waiting to pick one.

Hello!

I the lady from admission told me they look at the top scores first then work their way down. Chemistry is good for the Math section- conversion problems and some dosage calculations. If I don't get my the first date (Sept 25)choice, we will probably see each other on 16 which is my second option. I have most of my pre-reqs done except Micro and Nutrition which i'm taking this fall. When are you planing on taking A&P II? most of the system needed for this test is from A&P II.

I have all my notes from A&P, so i'm just re-reading everything but I have been studying for this for almost 2 months... Hoping is enough but since this test is a standardized test who know how and what they will ask for the science section- there is some many things to understand for each system!

So they look at scores, then GPA, then whether or not all prerequisites have been completed?

Unfortunately, yes. They focus more on the Kaplan score but you have to have the majority of the pre-reqs completed. For example, I have most of the classes expect Micro and nutrition but theses can be taken while in the program but it's not recommend since micro is a "tough" class.

Oh ok, got it. I've finished all my prerequisites. So basically I just have to ace this exam í ½í¸Ÿ
