Monroe College FALL 2022

Updated:   Published

Hi All,

I just got notified that I was accepted into the Fall '22 Accelerated Nursing Program! Wanted to start a thread to other students who may be attending as well or those who are applying and may have questions. ?

Just now, Aabuzu said:

Oh no, what did you hear? I am trying to find genuine reviews about this program. It's kind of hard LOL

What did you hear about the school? I'm curious LOL

So I basically found somebody who has attended monroe for few semesters on instagram. She said she basically taught herself all the class materials. Their cohorts only went clinical 2 time in person whole time to just observe. If you want more details just pm me.

Hey to all here! I literally start next week and judging from the reviews and things I've heard I think I made a big mistake. If anyone has any questions feel free to ask! Now I'm not so sure of what I should do LOL.

I'm hoping so too but I'm having serious second thoughts. I'm in the progressive program for Spring 2022. I know teaching yourself may be part of going to school but I'm not sure I want to be self taught. I don't think that's the best way for nursing. I tried to pm you for info on the IG post but I don't think I have enough posts to do that.

Hey, I've been reading the reviews through here and reddit and everybody pretty much has said the same thing. There's another thread on here about Monroe and they've voiced their concerns and it doesn't really sound good to me. Some people have said there's no real organization and based on the interactions I've had I can see why that was said. I've read little to no clinicals as well as students teaching themselves. Someone on reddit said they failed the NCLEX because they basically had to teach themselves and had no real help.

eta: I'm still waiting to know where 2 of my classes will be and classes start less than a week from now LOL. Idek if this will be hybrid or fully on campus. It seems like a mess and I'm starting to see why people have been saying that.

Hey guys do they take a long time to let you know if you got accepted? Anyone here  in the lpn program ?

I don't have the option to pm, but ultimately decided to attend Dominican Colleges WABSN program.

Hey!

Though I applied for another program, they still haven't given me a decision or timeline and I applied two months ago. I emailed, called, even personally texted my advisor. I would either get ignored or given the run-around.

Someone left their instagram handle here on another thread. I saw she just finished their program and decided to private message her. She said it took her a while to receive an acceptance letter.

I thought this school was very small and only accepted a certain amount of students each semester. Class starts this week yet I have no information on anything regarding class locations, orientation time and link or even anything about clinicals.

Yup me too. I received two emails, one said orientation was on Friday the 29th and then I later received an email stating that orientation was this Wednesday, the 27th from 6pm-7pm. I only have a location for 2 of my classes and still nothing for the other two. They gave me anatomy and phys lecture and lab, fundamentals and dosage calc/pharmacology. I think that's kind of a lot for one semester. Still nothing for clinicals either. Hopefully that'll be included in the orientation.
