hello, i was wondering, did anyone get a grant or scholarship to go to nursing school? how about a male nursing scholarship?

I worked as an RN for a little over 5 years, then did a 4 year preceptorship with an OB-GYN for 4 years before seeking certification as OB-GYN NP.

No, a preceptorship is not necessary. I chose that because this particular physician took an interest in my ability and wanted me to go to NP school. The only program he considered was one where the individual RN does a 4 year preceptorship and then completes a 6 month NP program in obstetrics/gynecology to allow you to be certified. Those programs no longer exist.

check and see if you state will pay or help pay if you agree to work in that state for one year. I am thinking the state I just moved from had that policy. Or even check into working for the government (like at a VA hospital). Good luck

hello mlf, yes i was going to inquire at the VAMC in Amarillo it there was like a work/school program that i could do to see if they would help me pay for school and then in return i could work for a year. thank you for your suggestion.
