Good morning!
I'll go off my diet after my labs are collected and eat well the days prior. ?
Didn't mow the grass like I wanted to yesterday and promised myself I'd get it done today but finding it hard to get motivated. The motivation might be that after a few days of moderate humidity, summertime humidity is coming back, but it should stay in the upper 80's.
Have a good day!
Good morning! It's overcast, but fairly warm at 61 at 8 am. The forecast is rain showers, changing to steady rain. The dogs are snoring next to dh on the couch. We too them out early, and they both peed, and then came in and peed again. Grrr. So I fed them, walked them, and they are now sawing logs. Last night I went out to pick up a pizza, and within 10 minutes, dh called to say they had escaped from the yard and were out in the street. So I rush home, he'd caught one they other was trotting up the driveway. We take them inside to find two piles and 2 puddles. All in about 20 minutes. Grr.
Im taking sis to a neurology consult today. I hope we can get some answers as to why she keeps falling and feels so weak. I predict an MRI is in her future.
NSIME, your little dog sounds so sweet. Of course, your hubby( and you) needs some thing more.
Well, Momo pooped on the pads, like a good girl. Not a heck of a lot of poop, because she didn't eat much yesterday. But I understand that being a tiny indoor dog,and only having the trek upstairs and down as her exercise, and only eating small amounts, there's not a lot to go through to 'the end'.
Last night I sat on the sofa with my supper tray in my lap while we watched the 2nd game of the double-header, and Momo did not even exhibit ANY interest in my food! Pippy was terrible at wanting any or all of your meals, so this is very different for me!
I went out and fed the livestock while hubby held and scratched Momo. The deer were out there within 10 minutes of me coming inside. The dog did sit up and perk her ears when she first saw them again, but she wasn't as focused on them as she was last night.
I was going to go out and get a few items we are low on, and pick up some ingredients for supper, but hubby said he wasn't hungry, and (after two little bottles) that he had to go upstairs and lay down in bed. Oh Great. Nannie is sound asleep. And I don't feel like I can take the dog out on my errand-run, so I dunno what we will do about supper. Hey! I could say "Not my problem!"
The chickens next door keep getting out of their yard and come under the fence (or'fly' over it?) into our yard. Momo doesn't give a fig or even a little yap about them. When my shih-tzus wanted to dig under our fence, I've told you about putting their poop in the holes they dug....but I also 'planted' some metal ke-bob skewers down into the earth right at the base of the fence, and it worked very well to keep them from slipping under the fence. I would suppose, though, that skewers wouldn't be enough to keep 'snorters' in place!
Today, just to be different, my right hip started to ache something fierce, and on my trip upstairs, my right hip and my left knee decided to collapse. But I was able to pull myself back upright. It did startle me because I remember learning that someone with a broken hip doesn't know it is broken until they fall. Like I need something else to worry about! Fortunately both recuperated nicely and I was able to go upstairs like a normal person.
In order for hubby to get up from his low seat (recliner), today I put the front of Nannie's walker facing him, put the brakes on, and sat down on the seat of the walker to weigh it down, and told him to grab the newel-post and the walker to haul himself up. He was dubious, but I told him I just could not help him up like I have done previously, and if I got any worse. we would ALL be sh** out of luck, period. So he did manage to get himself up. I think we should go out to get him another chair with a higher seat or a recliner that would help him stand like Nannie's does for her. I even suggested that after she went to bed, he could sit in her recliner and not have such a hard time getting up. But he stupidly declined to use her recliner, which pizzed me off. I said we would have to get a hospital bed and put it in the den if he became less able to move himself around. He had no response to that. And I do not understand why he doesn't "get it" about how to put the nasal canula on correctly. He actually woke me up at 5 AM to help him put it on. I'm going to hire him a tall, hulking guy to move him around and take care of his ISSUES. He is not even changing his underwear when there's poop stains showing through on the backside. I told him he needed to go into the bathroom and change his underwear, clean himself up (and use a damn PAD on the crotch of them), but he actually said to me, "Nope. Not until tomorrow." GAG! This is the man who used to keep himself immaculately clean! He really does need professional help and I am at a loss for where to send him, because he has no OOOMPH to help himself in any way, and he no longer drives anywhere if he can help it. Of course, the 'sleeves' of vodka are the only reason he does go out, to drive to the ABC store. Man-oh-man, he sure is getting worse. I don't suppose it would do any good to have another serious talk, because talk don't cut it with an alkie-holic.
Six o'clock, both patients are sleeping, nobody is interested in supper. Well, Momo did go over to her food dish and lap up the liquid portion of the food I put down for her a few hours ago. I may go up and make myself some supper, something that doesn't require cooking or nuking, that will not wake them up with an enticing aroma. Can't take care of people who don't want to be taken care of, except when THEY want me to get up and do something for them.
Oh, one last thing I gotta tell you: Last night Nannie went in to the bathroom in the middle of the night. After she took off her wet pull-up and pads and pants, she hung up her wet pants on a clothes hanger. She put on another pair of pants, OVER which she put some clean pull-ups......inside of which she placed two unopened, folded pads. Then she went back to bed and slept on top of her blankets and sheets, thus soaking through everything. All I did was pull them apart and spread them out, and turned the ceiling fan on to dry them off. I am sick to death of washing and changing her bed 4 to 5 times a week, Air drying will just have to do. I never would leave my patients dirty when I was working for a living, but these two beat all I've ever seen.
Hubs had a method with my dad, which he uses with his mom now, where he puts pads under the fitted sheet as well as on top of it. Still have to change the sheets a couple times a week. When Gma was a bit more with it she would take off the wet Depends and *hide* them and then go on without any underwear. Now she doesn't have enough going on to do that.
I'm so glad to see all the dogs in their homes.
Work was frustrating today. It started 2-3 weeks ago when I was in a Zoom meeting and had no audio. Since then any interweb meetings have had serious lags where everything freezes for a few seconds every couple of minutes. *And* other software freezes up like that. I get messages saying my internet is unstable. Oh yes, and when I tried to print things the printer would restart the job over and over. Our IT mgr did some updates, installed a new printer drives, to no avail. Today she figured out that when the lab folks installed something they ignored her instructions and USED MY IP ADDRESS. When I left today it wasn't fixed, maybe because she figured it out late in the day and no one was in the lab who could fix it.
Also, I couldn't log in to NHSN today and called to get my ID reset. But it still says my account is locked due to too many attempts. What a Monday.
Watching the Buccaneers vs Eagles. Two OU quarterbacks. Hubs is a big Baker Mayfield fan. Looks like it is raining hard in Tampa.
I was wondering why a guy in Oklahoma would be a fan of a Bucs quarterback and am reading that's where he went to college. I see they lost but there's a lot of Eagles fans here as transplants stay loyal to their teams. I also see he's 28 and has made 10 of millions of dollars moving around the NFL. I do not like football.
I was in Tampa last night for bowling night and it indeed rained. It stopped by the time I was finished and it was real muggy.
Stars, the outcome for your husband seems grim at this point. Hope Momo continues to bring some comfort and she adjusts well.

NJ22 thanks for sharing the pictures
Hi TMB and Dianah
Ado I'll let you know, I plan to begin reading later this week as it's a fairly long book
Stars glad that the dog finally arrived, hopefully she'll settle in and calm down soon
Fairly busy day yesterday. Did the remaining grocery shopping before church, and then did the cooking afterwards. Went for a walk in the woods in the afternoon. Then drove into the city to a meetup with another gay group. Nice enough folks, although perhaps a little awkward socially. Will try to do at least another event or two with them to see how things go, but it's quite a drive for me, this time it was nearly 25 miles
Today after work have the doctor's appointment, fairly confident I'll have lost at least as few pounds. Will go off diet for a few days after though will get back on the diet so I can lose still more by the next appointment
Another moderate date here in the mid 70s, will rain the next couple of days
