Stars pancreatitis is a possibility, although the pain could be other things

Hi NJ22

Tweety I'd be mad too, if they could have just solved it with a phone call

Ado glad the book is good

Yesterday was a bit busy initially.  Went to the store before church, went to church and coffee hour, then came home and met dad at our old church for the final service.  Was kind of a sad event, but I was glad we were there. Wish more of the old members had come.   Rest of the day was pretty quiet except for exercise

Going to get started at work a bit early, to deal with anything left over from 2 days off.  After having been off I'm starting to realize how much of a source of stress my job is, and how often I've had this issue with other jobs.  Need to remember to bring this up with the counselor next time

Going to be another cooler day, around 70,  think the rain has stopped

Good morning!

Joe, dealing with job stress is important.  Not that I'm any good at it.  My blood pressure was 150/88 last night.

Have to take the dogs in for their six month check up.  I'm going to enquire about dental cleaning.  Apparently due to their age, it's dropped off heir coverage and I would private pay.  But dental issues are a problem with this breed.  Maybe I'll do one at a time.

Got up early and did all my computer based training that came due for work that's due at the end of the month.

Going to take a nap sometime today.  Bowling tonight.

Good morning. It looks like it will be a nice day here, as the fog burns off. I was so tired last night and actually slept. I had a weird dream about being a patient and getting ready for a procedure. I snapped at the pre-procedure nurse about being unprofessional and he told me times have changed. Still, I wish I could sleep that well every night.

Yesterday we worked on reinforcing our fence so our new dogs won't escape. My low back is still tight and achy from kayaking, and it didn't like bending and reaching. Youngest ds is at work today, so I will see what I can get done today.

Tweety, it sounded like ED was being rather petty. A hardship for them? Wow. I hope your blood pressure is better now.

Yes, Joe, the Art Institute of Chicago is really wonderful. The whole city seems to teem with art, with all the beautiful architecture and sculpture.

Stars, I wondered about your hubby wanting a scan, because it's unlikely he would follow through with any treatment. Maybe he thinks the scan would fix things? Your situation seems so sad to me, I hope your new dog arrives soon to give you some comfort.

Good "Morning"~

Got Nannie up, Hubby got up, and now they are both sitting in their recliners with their eyes closed (but not asleep).

I saw the Mom-Doe and her two kids come up to check the spots where I put out food, but alas, it was all gobbled up over night.. So I went to the shed and scooped up corn and those pellets that are supposed to be good, particularly for the male deer's antler growth, and bones. They'll be back in a while to nosh. It is still so funny to me that the momma deer comes part way to the house to stare at the glass door; guess she was sending me mental messages: "We are here, where are YOU?" Late yesterday morning a squirrel came up to the door and started scratching at the corner of the door where it opens. I have all these critters saying "C'mon, c'mon!" (Tyrants!  No, not really.)

I have GOT TO go up to my room and put things away that are piled up in the bottom of the closet and spilling out onto the 'main' floor. I am such a slob sometimes, but I still maintain that if I had room in my room for a dresser, I would have somewhere to put my clothes away! Anyway, it has to be done before the dog arrives. (Though I still don't know when that might be.)

Tweety, the offer I made last year still stands, if you will line up those at your job who are such turds about understanding what you have to go through on the floor....I am willing to come down there and give everyone a hearty slap on their faces, and shake their shoulders vigorously and yell in their faces, "What the He!! is the matter with you people?!" Like it would do any good. I think the 'wars' between the Emergency Room and the staff on the floors have been going on for years on end, without any solutions. Shift-change transfers should be outlawed! Or there should be special staff who do JUST those transfers, including FULL reports, without having to interrupt the Charge nurse. They could be part-time employees who work between 1:30 PM and 5:30 PM. The ER folks obviously don't even THINK about anything except dumping out the ER patients. Maybe they could each work a while on the floor to see how it unfolds all the time. Let THEM be responsible for all that! Then they can carry the message back to their co-workers.....who probably wouldn't care, Oh well, me and my big ideas.

So I have to quit dawdling and go up to start the floor clearing process. UGH.

PS: I forgot to add that I also have to replace the toilet seat upstairs. Hubby, who, during one of his nighttime rickety walks to visit the bathroom, kind of landed sideways and took out one of the thingies in the back that secure the seat to the commode. I have to also scrub the tub and replace the shower mat and put one of those suction-cup handles on the wall of the tub so I can get hubby in there to sit on a shower seat and get scrubbed down. He isn't steady enough to stand in the shower. You wouldn't believe the dry skin that has accumulated on his legs!

EGADS!

Spent this past hour trying to get the damn-double-damn toilet seat replaced, but although I got one screw loose, I can't get the nut underneath to break loose from the screw, and on the other side I can't even break the screw loose at all. I used to be able to do this kind of stuff without any trouble, but my hands aren't strong enough. I also got extremely sweaty and nauseated from kneeling down and looking up underneath to try and place the wrench and using my other hand to turn the screw, but to no avail. Now the knuckles on my right hand are talking to me, so I guess it's time for a cold-pack on them.

Can't ask one neighbor to do it because he has had knee and back surgery and isn't officially healed. The other neighbor would probably try but I envision him with frustration, not a pleasant thought. If we can't get someone to recommend someone, we will probably have to get a plumber....even though it isn't exactly a plumbing job. Maybe a handy-man?

Meanwhile I am cooling off and trying to stop the shaking I've got from my efforts. I told hubby and Nannie it was going to be a freezer-food night for them. I don't even feel like eating, though maybe I can make myself a ham and cheese sandwich. Hubby's eyebrows raised when I said that, so I said, "No, not a GRILLED sandwich." He says my grilled cheese sandwiches are the best he's ever eaten, but not tonight, 'darling'!

There's still the bedroom floor and closet to deal with, but I may not do it tonight if I keep feeling so worn out and yucky.

UGH. Oh well.

After 2 trips to OKC today I still didn't get to present myself and my documents for TSA pre-check. There were technical difficulties this morning so they said to come back at 1 or later. I had stuff to do at work so returned mid-afternoon to find a sign that said "TSA services closed". So... guess I'll try again later.

It was a warm and beautiful day. I do love fall. Though technically it isn't fall yet it's pretty darn close. I came home feeling tired, uncomfortable, and grumpy ? but after a meal and a shower I'm feeling at least less uncomfortable ?

Bad news: The Braves lost to the Phillies 7-1.

Good news: I got a package of Jan Karon's books. I thought they were from a different series than what they actually are. I was remembering a series that took place in a small coal-mining town, and the main character was a woman who inherited her dad's pharmacy. But I know I will enjoy these books in the author's Mitford Series just as well. Thanks j22!?
