Hey-ho~
Today is the drudgery of going to the Funeral Home for death certificates and ashes. Then to the lawyers office to drop off some things he needs (death cert. and hubby's Master Card bill), and try to find out what the # is for the Insurance company where Nannie had taken out life ins on hubby...see if I can get that in the line up of info I need to collect. I also already have a call in to where the birth certificate should be located, and I guess I'll need several of those; I hope they return-call soon. And I think I need a copy of hubby's birth certificate before I can go to the SSA office.
I have to load Nannie and Momo in the car so I can accomplish these errands.
Well, nothing to it but to do it~
Good gloomy morning. We had an enjoyable day yesterday. The Chihuly Garden and Glass display were beautiful. I don't know how well known he is outside of the Northwest, but he has done some amazing glass sculptures. Pictures don't due them justice, but I will post a few from my phone in another post. They had a small glass blowing demonstration in the garden. Then we ate at the small restaurant attached to the garden. We shared a charcuterie board (cured meat, cheese, and fruit) and an order of fresh, chocolate filled donuts. Delicious. Dh didn't find the bulbs he wanted. He was looking for amaryllis bulbs, which are inside bulbs. He has two mail orders of outside bulbs (tulips, daffodils, and crocus) that he will put into pots and then into the green house to over Winter.
Dh said something about going for a drive with the dogs, but he is firmly planted in front of the TV, with his eyes closed. Who knows. He has been going to PT at 7 am, and then seems to sleep the rest of the day. I had wanted to go to sis's to weed-eat in her yard, but dh said he wanted to use the weed-eater first.
Joe, I am sure you will handle the day's workload smoothly.
Stars, good luck with your document retrieval.
Hi TMB, Annie, Dianah, and Tweety.
Wow, j22, those sculptures are phenomenal looking!! Thanks for the photos!
I couldn't get the death certificates until tomorrow, they said when I called. So we went to the post office, then the lawyers office to give him hubby's credit card bill. We were almost home when I got a call that the funeral home had the death certificates after all. So we went back there and picked them up, along with hubby's ashes. Went back to the lawyers office to give them one of the certificates. Then stopped at Subway to get us a 'foot-long' for late lunch, early supper.
Our insurance guy said I would be getting a check for the amount of the payment already made on hubby's supplement ($265.88)
Have yet to hear from the Health Dept in SC to see if they have a birth certificate for hubby. I need to go upstairs to see if I have my birth certificate AND a copy of our marriage certificate, both of which I HOPE (I think) are under my bed in a box. *fingers crossed*
I made a somewhat amusing Freudian slip when I said GIFT certificate instead of death certificate. ? ?Make of that what you will... ?
This document searching and gathering is tedious and aggravating, but everyone who has had a family member pass away has to go through this whole insane process. What's the Yiddish word? MISHIGAS? Not sure of the spelling, but that's how it's pronounced. Anyway, I sure could use a secretary to take care of all this craziness and nonsense for me. It's a good thing it is 4:30 PM so I can't call any businesses or insurance carriers now, as I am about give-out. I will try to get hubby's birth certificate by calling SC again tomorrow. (early AM would be a better time, I think). Also need to find out what insurance company Nannie used for the insurance she took out on hubby, years ago. I hope I can locate them, and I hope hubby didn't cash his in....but that's a moot point until I track down the policy. Would be nice to get insurance $$$, but I'm not counting on it, just in case it isn't there for me to cash in on....where-ever THERE is!
I really need to do the dishes; they've piled up considerably in the last few days. Did I mention Momo peed on my bed this morning? She ate her breakfast in my room, and then after she got back up on the bed is when she went. I just put that fitted sheet on their clean last evening. Oh well, kids will be kids, and dogs will be dogs, too.
Decompressing now----------------------------?.
Nearly $500 later, the pets are on their way to being parasite free again. Binx has coccidia besides the roundworms. Hubs still adores this cat but the more we spend on him, and the more he sprays urine, the return on investment may be diminishing. This (the parasite situation) seems like a good reason to keep him indoors at all times but he will not be happy about that. By the way, I have NOT heard the mouse or whatever it was in several days...
I went to Walgreens at lunchtime and (finally) got the second shingles vaccine and the latest Covid vaccine. The pharmacist tried once again to talk me out of getting both at the same time and I told her I will take my chances.
I've never seen a drag show but can imagine that it would be entertaining. Stepson's friends were always saying he would make a good drag entertainer. He probably would, can sing pretty well, and can be funny when he isn't psychotic. I don't think I've ever seen him in full drag but I did see a picture from a Derby Day party once.
I've only seen drag shows on TV or in the movies. I did have a gay guy, back in the early 1970's,tell me that he wished I was a guy, because he thought I was awfully cute and would make a cute guy. Imagine that! ?
My friend in Fla who got Momo for me called today, and Nannie looked at me for the entire 45-50 minutes I was on the phone with her. I love her dearly, but she likes to talk a LOT and her voice isn't the softest in the world. She spoke about history, the Revolutionary War, Family-Trees, Dogs, and a lot of etc's. Nannie just couldn't figure out what we were talking about, which is fine, but I had to tell my friend to hold on a minute, I had to tell Nannie I was talking with a friend of many years, and no, there's nothing Nannie needed to keep track of, nor worry about "owing or needing to pay for anything".?
Time for the network news....
Ado, I'm reading the Oklahoma City has the largest Chihuly collection. Being an artsy town we had a significate collection here in St. Petersburg, FL. I've been to it and it is indeed stunning work. https://stpeteartsalliance.org/arts-culture-directory/details?itemid=4
My overtime shift was a mess. I got five admissions and left around 8:45 but most everything done.

Hi Ado
NJ22 are those bulbs going to be planted indoors
Stars I hope you find those papers soon
Tweety it is odd that it has become so popular in the gay community
Was tired yesterday, mostly because of the last few days. So it was a quieter day yesterday. Went to church and ushered, then stopped at the grocery store. Then came home and cooked (thankfully an easy dish) and did the dishes. Went for a walk in the evening and went to bed a bit early
Today hopefully work will be better, although we do have people off work today and tomorrow. Going to try and be patient and go in without any expectations
Will be warmer today, in the mid 60s
