Tweety glad you're sleeping better

NJ22 sounds like a nice trip

Was a quieter day yesterday.  Had time for baking and laundry before church.  Afterwards ran an errand or two.  Rode my bike, was a bit of a struggle as it was fairly windy

After work tonight finally have my Covid delayed doctor's appointment, glad that will be done

Feeling slightly down today, not sure why

Going to be in the upper 70s today, 80s later in the week.  Glad the warm weather has finally come

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a good day and your mood improves.

J22, does sound like a good day.

I seemed to sleep about five hours uninterrupted last night but I sure would like to sleep more.

Taking Slowbro for his follow up ophthalmology appointment to see if the new drop is working for him.  I never did get an answer from the dog walker in the neighborhood if she could come and administer his drop while I was at work so on days I work he doesn't get it as I didn't find an alternative yet.  I'll find out today if missing three drops a week is making a big difference or not.

Otherwise pretty routine day.

Where'd everybody go? I know I was getting some weird messages last night, especially because I had to reset my password a couple of times.

Quiet day. Did one of my usual absentminded things: loaded up my bike to go to the park and realized after I got there I had forgotten my helmet and gloves. And it was raining, so I just came home. Did some laundry, then drove into work to finish a presentation I'm doing for some nursing students about public  health. I'm hoping its not too boring. I did a little outside clean up too. The cherry blossom petals on the driveway get quite slippery, so I try to sweep them up. They also seem to get tracked in. Youngest ds and I are going to have Indian food tonight, because dh is out of town. And it's Antique Roadshow night on PBS. Gadfry, I'm getting old.

I hope there is good news regarding Slo-Bro, and that all is well with Joe's appointment.

Hello!  We arrived home around 4 after a 5-hr drive.  It was a good festival, though it got cold (in the 60's with cold winds, and dipped to the low 30's at night) the last two days.  That curtailed the usual night-time jamming for us (we don't own a space heater).  But we had a good time anyway.  Jammed during the day, caught a few bands' sets, visited friends, made new ones.  Only came home with four mosquito bites!

It was quite a rustic setting, in the midst of rolling hills of cattle ranches.  Parkfield's population is 18, which swells to 1500 during the bluegrass festival!  The V6 Dude Ranch hosts greenhorns, for cattle drives, rodeos, and trail rides -- the whole dude ranch experience.  There is a Parkfield Lodge, with 7 guest rooms, as well as the bunkhouse out at the dude ranch.  The Parkfield Cafe features local grass-fed beef (dh and friends loved their burgers and ribeye steaks), and they serve a wonderful chicken tortilla soup (there is a black bean veggie burger available too).

We camped in a large field populated with large oak trees with their gnarled branches, and had to dodge many large squirrel holes, when walking place to place (if one didn't stick to the dirt road).

Parkfield is the home of MANY seismic studies and measurements.  I went on a tour given by a geologist, who explained Parkfield's importance in the area of earthquake monitoring, and answered questions.  We walked 0.5 miles down the road, to a bridge over a ravine.  Water was still running in the bottom of the shallow ravine -- which was formed by the pulling apart of the Pacific and North American tectonic plates!  There is a slight bend to the railing of the bridge, from constant "seismic creep."  Every 20 years or so, Parkfield experiences a large earthquake, then the creep continues again.  It was a very interesting presentation!

Anyway, it's good to be home, and good to see the fur-babies again!  I had no cell phone service while at the festival, so used a "spare" phone that dh carries.  I didn't get on AN or FB with it (too complicated for me!), but I was able to play Spider Solitaire and read via kindle on my phone (books were already downloaded and ready).

We are unpacked and I have the second load of laundry almost ready to go in the dryer.  I may post photos tomorrow.

Have a good evening!

Hey, y'all...

It is late; in 3 minutes I will turn into a pumpkin. I've GOT to start coming here earlier in the day! By this time of night I'm reading a few chapters of An Echo In The Bone (Diana Gabaldon) and drowsing off....speaking of pumpkins, I just dropped a glass slipper and the horses have turned back to mice...

See you tomorrow!
