Good morning!
Speaking of cats, best friend's cat turned 18 yesterday. He got him when he was a kitten. He's a typically aloof cat and only this past year or so has he shown any interest in me. He sat next to me on the couch while we watched a movie. He's in good health. Slowbro frequently vomits in bed but the last time he was considerate and vomited off the side of the bed to the floor.
Need to get out and mow the weeds before a "cold front" comes through which will bring weather back down to the 50's.
18 is a pretty old cat. Our Minnie was 19 when she passed but we really probably should have had her euthanized before then.
I think Dory's OK. I couldn't reproduce the reaction when I touched the spot on her jaw.
I ordered one of those pheromone infusers to see if that will reduce Binx's spraying habit. I've used them in the past (not with these cats) and didn't feel like it was a miracle. We will see.
Hubs didn't go to church with me yesterday because Gma was up and cranky when it was time to go. Hubs didn't want Twin A to have to try to deal with her. Reviewing the med changes over the past few weeks, we wonder if it was a mistake to stop her lexapro. So I stayed after church for the fellowship dinner and had a good time. I brought home some food for Hubs. Cooked a corned beef brisket in the afternoon and had it with some sauteed cabbage last night. I enjoyed it. Hubs said it was "OK." I fixed Gma's plate and started to cut up the meat for her, but she grabbed the plate away and when I said I was going to cut her meat she looked at me and said "It's NOT MY MEAT." OK, then. I tried to put a roll on her plate and she swatted me away. Earlier in the afternoon, she was ready to throw Twin B's shoe at him and I held her arm so she couldn't. So she scratched me and punched at me (very ineffective) and called me a "stupid-haired woman." Who wants smart hair? (I'm thinking of a routine on a Spike Jones album I had: Doodles Weaver says "A man came up to me the other day and said, 'Doodles, your hair is getting thin.' I said, 'So? Who wants fat hair?" )
I forgot to post earlier! Anyway, it was a quiet day, sunny and warm, but now it is dark-thirty and time to go to bed. It is supposed to drop down to 32 degrees tonight, so I put a sheet over Nannie's 2 plants.
SiL had to have their dog put to sleep today; she wasn't eating well and not drinking enough water; MANY years old, such a cute and sweet little shih tzu. So sad. SiL said she has cried all day.
I get the day off tomorrow if SiL still feels like giving Nannie a shower and then getting her dressed and over to their house until after supper.
Hope I get the LIST (in my paper brain) pretty much all crossed off, but who knows. Gotta go with the flow and see. I think it is supposed to rain tomorrow, so that might change some of my 'destinations' because the HFS and car dealership I are both waayyy out there, mileage-wise.
Anyway, hope everybody's critters are all well. (Waking up to throw-up on or beside the bed is not one of my favorite things!)
Good night!
Good evening. I've hardly accomplished anything and yet I feel drained. I drove sis down to Seattle to see her pacer doctor. And then we went to lunch and that took most of the day. And I seem to have misplaced my debit card. Grr.
It is so tough to lose a beloved pet. I think many of us have experienced that.
the weather has been unseasonably warm in the 60s, 70 in a few locales.
eldest ds sent us pics of grandson trying his hand at flying. This was a Christmas gift that was fulfilled this weekend. I predict this boy may get his pilots license before his drivers license. He is hoping to go to the Air Force Academy.

Fairly productive day yesterday. Got the cooking done before church, and started the bread rising a 2nd time. The former took more time than expected, as I have not made risotto in a long time. After church got the bread baking done along with the associated clean up. Rest of the day was a bit calmer, exercised and watched Outlander and the remainder of Das Rosenkavalier
Today have to follow up with the vet's office regarding the thyroid medication. Otherwise should be a fairly ordinary, just exercise and a few minor chores. Definitely calmer than the weekend
Will be another cooler day today in the upper 30s
