Stars I hope his stomach settles down

NJ22 glad things are warming up there

Tweety too bad about the stethoscope

Ado glad things were calm at home

At church a long time yesterday.  Got there early for adult education,  then the service, then briefly at coffee hour then met with the evangelism group for at least an hour and a half.  I think our subsequent  meetings should be shorter.  Ended up at church for 3 or 4 hours

Set up a crock pot recipe before church and it was done by the time I got home.  Went for a walk and joined a book club and a social group on Meetup. Rest of the day fairly quiet

Hoping work will be OK, have been getting a lot of new cases the last week or two

Will get up to the 50s today although it's supposed to be quite rainy

Good Morning!

Joe, hope you enjoy the new social activities.

Day off today, about to wash the car.  Probably will nap later.  Got up at 6AM but slept relatively well.

High clouds, mostly sunny, light breezes and it is 72 degrees.

I am about to get Nannie up. I went into her room and said "Nannie!" 3-4 times, but she didn't wake up. I left her bedroom door open, and will try again in a minute.

Went out to deposit all the fruit/nut/sunflower seeds, and bird seeds. One minute later there are at least 5 birds out there: cardinal, mourning dove, purple finch, chickadee, and some kind of brown sparrow. Hard to tell the sparrows apart as their markings are all slightly different. I USED TO be able to tell them apart, but it's been a long, long time since my 2-semester birding course at college...and no one is going to give me a test about them, so.....

Guess I'll go rouse Nannie and get her up. Will be back by here later!

Here's something a little interesting: Hubby told me he figured out why his stomach has been bothering him! He said that when he gets up (early --7 AM) he goes out to the Ford and has 3 little bottles of vodka, and then he doesn't eat anything (except maybe a cracker or two, here and there) until suppertime. So this morning when he got up he had a piece of toast and some saltines and within 5 minutes, his stomach pain was gone. Then he also ate a p'butter and mayo sandwich at lunchtime and he says, "I feel fine now." Imagine that!

No news is good news, I guess. The weather's going to change again and prove to us that Winter isn't over.

I had a heating pad out Saturday and didn't put it away. Found the eldest cat lying on it so I turned it on and said, "Turbo will never leave that spot again." Of course, she did but since then we've been turning it on for her every now and then and she just luxuriates in it.

Well hi. Slowish day at work. I worked at cleaning out my desk, returning pens and markers to the supply closet, tossing old, non-sticky sticky notes, gathering up all the hair elastics I seem to have accumulated. I watched the weekly state TB meeting. They were talking about ocular TB and proposed aspirating fluid from an eye for culture, and I just can't stop thinking about how much that would hurt. Ugh. I know, they likely anesthetize and use a tiny needle, but I am just weird about eye stuff, I guess. The weather was decent, partly sunny and got up to 50 degrees. It's going to get cold again. Yup, Winter is still here. I saw it is going to be 3 degrees where we used to live in Idaho, so there's cold and there is COLD!

I made an appointment for a check-up for Angus at a new vet. I got fired at the old one last year when I pointed out that they didn't have very good communication with the office. I wasn't even going to take him this, but youngest ds and dh are concerned that he is losing some Spring and strength in his rear legs. I already know he has a big heart murmur and cataracts, but he seems comfortable and content to me. And going to the vet really upsets him. I am taking him to a vet my daughter uses, and her dog has a lot of anxiety. So fingers crossed that he tolerates it and I am not a b.

Tomorrow is election day. The only thing on the ballot is a "state question" proposing legal recreational marijuana. We've had medical marijuana for what (?) 3 years now? And there's a dispensary on every corner. I don't know how these state laws work when there are still federal prohibitions. Must admit I haven't followed the debate much.

We have both and it's a little messy. They have trouble processing money, so most transactions are in cash, and they get robbed a lot.
