Good Morning.
Got up at 4:00AM thinking it might be time to feed the dogs but wasn't sleeping so got up and fed them and went back to sleep for a bit more. They didn't seem to mind.
I take my car to the dealership for its inspections and oil changes. Probably more expensive, but I don't have a mechanic I can trust and they are fairly thorough. In fact have an appointment on Wednesday.
Fairly normal Monday here. Will clean and go to the gym. Bowling is tonight.
Have a great day.
44 degrees and raining. SiL called and texted me at 8:30 AM, to let her in the back door; I didn't get up earlier to do so. Fortunately it didn't take me long to fall back to sleep. And Momo didn't even bark once at the 'noise' SiL was making.
But, Oooh, last night something spooked Momo when we were in bed; I was reading, and she barked once, leaped onto my chest, peered around behind her, and then dove under the covers. It took me quite a while to figure out why she could possibly be freaking out. I decided it was one of those STUPID shield-shaped stink bugs changing its location. They are so dumb, that if you see one you have time to get a paper-towel and pick'em up and squash 'em, they never try to get away by flying off, like any other self-respecting bug would do. I never did actually see a stink bug, but it was the only sensible thing I could come up with to explain Momo's behavior.
So, it is noon and I am finishing up my coffee; I will most likely will leave earlyish to go get Nannie at daycare, as I do need to stop at the store on the way over there, for a few items like Ex. Str Tylenol, underpads, and also 2 air-vent filters for the house. I hear a slight kind of distant but distinct hum when the heat-pump comes on, I found out previously that it is a dust-clogged air filter causing that sound, and changing to a fresh filter makes that hum disappear.
In a few minutes I will get up and get dressed, and occupy myself around the house to pass these next 3 hours until I have to go out. Can't 'promise' I'll do anything particular, but will likely do a few things to straighten a few messy spots, maybe bag stuff for the dump. I don't know if I mentioned that yesterday or the day before I made up the "guest-room" (formerly the main bedroom, which became a storage spot when we moved in here) bed with fresh sheets. Not that I am expecting or wanting any guests; it just makes the room look a tad neater, which is part of my "ULTIMATE GOAL" for the house. Although the goal-posts keep moving around.....
Anyway, I have 3 hours to myself 🤪, and I don't wanna waste 😵 them!
The sun is out, the sun is out! Whooooooo! It's still not very warm at 46, but the air is calm and I'll take it. I've been half-heartedly un-decorating the tree. The garbage cans are full, so decluttering is on hold. And I need to strip the bed and wash the bedding due to the 2 little monsters tracking in mud. No news on my car, but the body shop said they would send out text updates on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I am starting to feel a little trapped. Dh doesn't mind me taking the pickup when I need to, but I don't really like driving it. The suspension is really stiff and the heater fan has been making a weird sound.
I think a made bed with a nice cover makes a room look so much better than a bare mattress. So I better get on that!
Hello!
I am recovering from yesterday's walking at Disneyland. We got to hear our fave band a couple times, met some nice ppl, sat and watched the parade, "A Christmas Fantasy." Temperature was 75 degrees, dropping to 60 after dark, but it was all very nice. Last time we will see the Christmas lights and decorations till next holiday season. Rode the train a couple times, walked a lot (over 9K steps). In Batuu (Star Wars area), Chewbacca spotted dh's long white beard and gave a thumbs-up --- dh got a kick out of that! We listened to the pianist play in the lobby of the Grand Californian Hotel. Had a nice dinner. Safe drive home!
Though retired, I am keeping my license current (don't ask why, I dunno!! habit?), so I paid for a year's subscription to a company and have been taking their one-hour courses. I have so far taken 10 courses (10 hours' worth), though I need 30 hours total. It'll come, slow but sure!
Had lunch on Saturday with the ds's, as youngest and his wife flew out Friday, just for some California sun. They leave Tuesday, and will return in July, as they have tickets to see a favorite band that will be playing in the area. It was sure good seeing them! We passed on a couple Christmas gifts (since we knew they'd be coming, we didn't mail them), and had some good guacamole and flautas!
Stay warm and safe, y'all! Have a good evening!

TMB I think that may be why Svengoolie has lasted so long, he appeals to a wide variety of audiences
NJ22 hope you sleep better tonight
Stars I hope you were able to find something to distract her
Tweety I agree
Ado hopefully next time the patients will be more pleasant
Was a quieter day yesterday. Meal prep before church, then cooking thereafter. Ran an errand or two, then watched For Your Eyes Only and exercised. Think I'm done with Bond movies for a while
Reached out to a local garage for a scheduled oil change. One new thing for the new year is to stop going to the dealer, too far and too expensive
Nothing really planned for after work today except for laundry and exercise
Think it will be in the mid 20s again, and will be like this for the rest of the week. Got a little snow last night but none more expected for a while
