Stars I hope you feel better

Ado that sounds like a good idea

NJ22 I've never sung opera,  when I've been in choirs it's been as a tenor or baritone

Tweety I normally keep my thermostat around 72 or 74 too

Had a productive morning yesterday.  Got the taxes done before church,  and had enough time to fit in the grocery shopping.  After church did the cooking, exercised, and finished watching the opera.  Spent more time on the dating apps, starting to get the hang of it, though nothing yet

Today should be a fairly ordinary day, and should be a fairly ordinary week too, nothing unusual going on.

Will be another day in the mid 40s, although it should be in the 50s most of this week

Afternoon~

Weird night last night....Went to sleep at 11 PM and woke up with a start at 2 AM and thought it was Friday and I hadn't put the trash out! Checked my cell phone to see what day of the week it is, saw it is Monday so I went back to sleep.  Woke up in a horrible sweat an hour later, my fever was breaking; was awake until 4 AM. Woke up at 11:30 AM and had coffee, then since I hadn't heard from SiL and couldn't remember her work schedule, I went down to get Nannie up and give her the yogurt, cranapple, and AM meds. (Currently she is taking her afternoon nap.)

After a while I felt so gross, I wanted to take a shower. Got in the BR and decided I couldn't stand my hair another minute and I just HAD TO trim it. Very tired, though, and had to sit down a few times during the process. Did kind of a hack job, but oh well, so what, who cares! If it is really awful, I can get SiL to even it out at some point.

Shower and shampoo felt great, but the phone kept ringing and ringing while I was all soaped up and had my hair full of shampoo. I didn't bother to get out of the shower to answer it, though. It turned out, when I looked at it later that there were 2 Amber Alerts, one was for a missing child, and the other was about a policeman who was attacked! Also had 2 missed calls from SiL. I have left her several messages but rec'd no answers yet.

Then the dermatologist's office called and I thought it was one of those calls : "I am interested in buying your house...." so I was a little rude at first. Realized it wasn't , and asked if this was in reference to her Dr's derm-referral for the thingy on Nannie's right cheek. Had to convince the lady on the phone that it was okay to talk to me; then wondered if SiL wanted Nannie to see her old dermatologist, who is semi-retired, and only works part time. Also thought SiL might want to go to the derm appt when I take Nannie, but don't remember SiL's schedule, so I've left her several texts, one of them with the derm office's phone #, so she can set up the appt to coincide with her availability. I mean, *I* don't have any particular schedule, so it doesn't matter to me! Just not an early AM appt!

I guess I am, as my Mom used to say, "Neak in the Wees"..... ie, not really up to par, or back in the swing of my 'normal' (hah!) brain power or energy. My thinking process is a bit fuzzy at this time. ?

Now that I am through with all the self-care and hygiene, I am resting....but I have left a gawd-awful mess to clean up in the bathroom.....a pile of towels, little snips of hair I didn't get up the first go-round attempt at picking up after myself. But, it will be there when I am ready to deal with it; there is no white-glove inspection coming up today ? so I will get to it when I get to it.

Maybe tomorrow I will feel more human and adept, and can take care of a few things on my list.

As one of hubby's old friends used to say....."Meanwhile back at the ranch,  at the pool table, Tonto racked the Lone Ranger's balls...."

Bbbzzzzttttt! Over and out!

but Gma's was! She took off her absorbent underwear some time during the night.

Hubs forgot that he wanted to attend a funeral this morning so he didn't schedule a sitter. (I actually planned to go, too, but whatever). Twin A was working and Twin B needed to sleep so I Gma-sat. The depakote seems to have made a big difference for now. And maybe the fentanyl patch. It's hard to get straight answers from her but she does complain about pain (my back, my bottom...) and after her fall the other day she probably is/was pretty sore. The doctor previously ordered tramadol but since she went on a strike against pill-taking that wasn't working. The last couple of days, though, she cooperated with taking the depakote.

Meanwhile, the sitter did come around noon so Hubs could go visit with the nursing home he would prefer, just to get an idea of the costs, etc. And to discuss the possibility of occasional respite care if we don't leap into long-term care. And I could (finally) go to work. There are only 2 inpatients at the moment but then there is only a nurse (no aide) scheduled to work on med/surg tonight.

No walk with Twin A this morning since he needed to leave pretty early for the zoo. I think he works tomorrow, too. The thermostat in my office is currently set on 72 (when our pharmacy nurse is here, I have to turn it down it because it gets too warm in the drug room). 72 is as high as it will let me go. It also says it is currently 72.4, so it is "cooling". It does not need to be cooling.

G'day!

Stars, hope you continue to mend.

I survived my overtime shift.  I've had worse days but sure am tired now that it's done.

Hello all!

No Stars, I just remembered something a friend used to quote, from Spike Lee (and our friend quoted it some, oh, 30-40 years ago!) - and intoned in our best radio announcer voice: And as the sun pulls away from the shore and our boat sinks slowly into the West, we bid a fond farewell to the island of Lu Lu (big pause) spelled backwards: Ool Ool!        Hope you are soon feeling more chipper.  Yay that Nannie was dry!

Ado, booooo that Gma WASN'T dry!  I hope she continues to take the depakote and it does help tone her down.  What did your dh say about the facility?

Tweety, do you work tomorrow too?  ? if you do.  But, good you made it through today.  Sorry you missed bowling, though.  I look forward to following you and your team!

We did a couple errands today, before dh fed the cats and dog.  Since lunch, we have practiced our two songs, and will do them tomorrow during the program, which runs live from 6-7pm.  We will report to the studio at 4:30-ish, to acclimate the instruments.   We have an appointment to get Toby seen at "our" vet, on Thursday.  I get taxes done on Friday.

We had a nice visit and meal last night, at the "pub" where oldest ds works.  He joined us for dinner, then he reported to work and we got to see him in action.  He's FAST, mixing those drinks!   My friend A, with whom I worked at the County hospital from 1984-2003, joined us.  The food was good (but fish 'n chips is usually greasy, LOL!) and we agreed we will meet again, A and I!

Nothing much else going on here.  Have a good evening!
