Good morning!
Joe, that is really cold. Don't know how you stand it. Hope you have a good day.
Might make it to 70 today but it's very cloudy and no sun. We got a good amount of rain in the area last evening. It was much needed.
Waffles is squinting less so I'm thinking her eye infection is getting better. She still get disoriented. I added 1/2 cup of water to her meals because I'm not sure she's hydrating at her water bowl which seems untouched. I had put her back in my bed after her drops and giving some pain medication and noticed a puddle of pee on my comforter. She never has done that before. Not sure if it was sedation, deliberate or just confusion. She hates her cone but I've been compliant about making her wear it and haven't taken it off like I'd been doing with the other one.
Didn't sleep the greatest and might try to sneak a nap in before lunch after Waffles gets her FIVE different eye drops starting at 11:00.
Hello all!
Joe, that IS cold, brrrrrr! We have SoCal thin blood, however -- 56 degrees feels cold to us!! I hope your day goes smoothly (no drama, no bad surprises).
Tweety, poor Waffles, wearing the cone. I wonder as well, why she peed when and where she did... Hang in there with the multitude of eye drops. Good thing you are a nurse, eh? Putting water into her food is something dh would do, to ensure the cats get enough water. Hope you have a good day.
We had a good band practice, and FWIW, the weekend will be here before we know it and we will do our two programs, ready or not!
We had scheduled the day at Disneyland, then followed the forecast. It was predicted to be 81 degrees, so we decided to cancel our reservation. Dressed dapper, walking around, and dealing with the higher humidity of the area -- just decided we weren't going to do it. Next week sometime! 🙂
Tomorrow we meet with oldest ds for a lunch and a natter.
Have a good day!
Poor ol' Waffles, multiple eye drops and the dreaded cone. Poor ol' Stars, eye drops QID, but thank god, NO CONE! But I do have one of those eye-guards taped over my right eye. Mildly annoying.
"POST-OP REPORT": Everything went fine, except me not even sleeping maybe 3 hours or less last night. Probably the reason my BP was up. They took a reading every ten minutes for 30 minutes but it didn't go down. but they proceeded anyway. I didn't feel the least bit nervous, and declined the Xanax they offered me. So, now my eyelashes feel gummy and are sticky. I don't know if I should try to clean them off, but I ain't a'gonna; they can do it tomorrow Don't want to dislodge my 'perfect new lens', as the doc called it. I did not 'nap' per se when I got back home, but sort of hung in the space of "not really asleep" for several hours And my KNEES hurt! I put a capsaicin patch on each one and took my jeans off and am wearing some jersey material pants not made for public wear. Now I am awake and BORED! I took my eyedrop like I'm s'posta, and have to do it 2 more times this evening. My follow-up appt isn't QUITE as early tomorrow.....8 AM. w00t?
I think SiL told me she would pick Nannie up from daycare around 3 PM and take her to get her nails done, then they will be home. (not so w00t.) I think she also said something about bringing our supper. I hope it is something I want to eat. There are times I give Nannie the food SiL brings over and search out something from the freezer for myself. I guess SiL will be taking care of Nannie this evening.....over night? Dunno. Don't care, either. I am SO VERY off-duty that I may not even go down to the den to look at TV tonight, as I want no verbal or audio exchanges with the Nannie-person.
I look forward to when I can get in the shower and wash my hair. Post op, they said it is okay tomorrow. I say it depends on how chilly it is. The good news is that Tinker does not care if I have an odor, and I have no sense of smell!
Hopefully I won't go crazy-mad this evening, and chew the insides of my (facial) cheeks . Now my boredom has me feeling sleepy again. Hmmm. We'll see what comes of that.
Glad the surgery went well, Stars!
Poor Waffles with the cone. Maybe peeing was a protest? I sometimes think the cats do that to us.
Speaking of the cats, Binx and Ilsa got some vaccines last week and Ilsa has an appointment the 23rd for her first rabies vaccine. Sam is up-to-date still -- I think until February. Soon will have to think about having Ilsa spayed.
Gma is home as of yesterday. It appears they had some difficult moments with her -- she came back with some doses of topical ativan. But she seems none the worse for wear. I hope Hubs had enough of a break to keep the gloominess at bay for awhile. Naturally, there were complications. The convertible was spewing antifreeze and is in the shop with, so far, an estimate of $2k to fix it. The washing machine started giving us a "filling" error and would try to keep water running into it even with the power shut off. Now it seems we can use it if we use the "speed wash" setting but it really needs to be fixed. And of course Hubs has not addressed the thumping noises from the dryer so that should be done, too. I can't really complain -- they have lasted nearly 20 years with minimal maintenance (it's a front-load washer so it was not a cheap set). The Neon has a gasoline leak. If I had my way, we'd get rid of the Neon and the Jeep and get something a little newer (they are both '90s vintage). But I don't get my way when it comes to the cars. Or much else, if we are being honest.
The book club had our Christmas cookie exchange party Saturday. I spent Friday baking. It was fun in the beginning but I got tired of it 🙂 My cookies were voted "best looking" and my prize was a "holidays and special occasions" cookbook.
The "boys" are 31 today. It is finals week for Twin A. They want to go somewhere out of town to do some stargazing, maybe next weekend. I should make or buy a cake for tonight, I guess. Twin B is working tonight.
Kisses on the nose to sweet Waffles, The Cone'd Dog! When can the cone come off for good?
Yeh....I will have my left eye cataract removed at some point in time; don't know when. I don't think it is as pronounced as the right eye was. Kind of depends on what Medicare and supplemental insurance pays and doesn't pay.
Good thing I have to wear an eye patch, because it is an automatic reaction to want to scrape gunk out of the part of my eye closest to the nose. I don't dare try to clean it off and/or out lest I do it wrong! Tomorrow morning I will let them show me or instruct me how to do the maintenance.😉 carefully!

Hi NJ22
Stars sounds like a productive day
Tweety I hope your next shifts are less crazy
Yesterday was fairly busy. Did the cooking in the morning and some other meal prep as well as the dishes. Then went to church, was almost late as cleaning the snow off the car took longer than anticipated
After church drove to meet my friend N for lunch. Finding parking was a struggle as it was very busy there. After lunch drove home and then ran some errands, did laundry, exercised, and did some more Christmas cards
Today should be pretty ordinary. No meetings at work, no one off, and already did the laundry
Will be colder today, in the mid 20s
