NJ22 thanks for the pics

Stars hope you can find a new more reliable caregiver

Ado that's pretty hot

Tweety hope the next shift is less busy

Yesterday was a bit quieter.  Went to church.  Did the cooking after church.  After that met a new friend, K, for lunch.  Was nice to talk to someone in person who I'd only talked to online before.

Came home and decided to take my bike out for the first time in like 2-3 months.  Ride was kind of dull, traffic was kind of heavy and a tire blew out on the way home.  Wondering if this is a sign that bicycling is not for me anymore.  Haven't done it that much this year

Cousin emailed last night, suggested the Milwaukee trip be pushed back a week to mid October.  Should be possible, have to check with work and the cat sitter today

Should be a pretty ordinary day.  Online meeting with the events committee with the gay group

Going to be a bit warmer today, upper 80s, might get some more rain

Good morning!

Joe hope you have a good day and can get the vacation rescheduled without issue.

Off today.  Got up at 4:45 and decided to feed Waffles as she was awake and we both went back to bed.  I was able to get some sleep.  Most of this week I've been waking up before 5AM.

My fellow charge nurse is in the hospital and called off yesterday for this week.  I didn't ask her why because it's none of my business.  I might be working some overtime.  At first I offered to take her shift tomorrow but then realized I'm taking best friend to get cataract surgery tomorrow.  I did get another charge capable nurse to cover her shift tomorrow.   I might pick up Thursday instead.

Hope all goes well with the cataract surgery. And that your coworker gets better and gets back to work

95 degrees at the moment with a "feels like" of 104. One A/C unit went out over the weekend, with the blower motor generating a lot of smoke. But at least in my office I am comfortable. The unit on the wall says it's 74.9 and I'm OK with that. Flying to Indianapolis tomorrow and it looks like the high there will be about 80 while I'm there.

There was a shooting at hospital in Enid, about 130 miles away. Sounds like a domestic situation that somehow ended up at the hospital. The shooter and, it sounds like, a security officer at the hospital died. Sad and scary.

I just spent two hours on the phone and on-line, trying to arrange two different appointments, confirm and pre-register and pay for the Lifeline Screening, plus confirm an appt I have for hearing aid offer (turn in old aids and charger and get $500/off.) because their main office (where ever that is) covers all their offices and they also keep hopscotching my emails, so I had to call the local office to confirm. I am also paying some bills and will save a few also, to pay when SS check is in the bank next week. Anyway, all these on-line and on-the-phone and the sorting, writing, keeping track of **** has me frazzled.....especially the on-line stuff which is hopscotching my phone calls......BLEH!  I know Tweety keeps telling me to do it all on-line with autopay and all that, but it isn't working for me except on SOME of my bills which are already on auto-pay, via and per my banker. I don't like doing business on line because I get confused too easily, so following up is necessary to make sure I am getting it done correctly. GAH!

I have to stop and gather my purse etc.....I have to go to the post office, the bank, and the grocery store before I have to pick up Nannie, and with my luck I won't have time to bring the groceries home to put them away before I have to arrive for Nannie pick-up.

And THIS is my day OFF! Ha!

One of these days I am going to wake up happy because my time is my own and I won't have to feel like someone in Cirque de Soliel (or however it is spelled) trying to learn a new routine.

Hello all!

Tweety, good you have the day off, however, not looking forward to some overtime, with co-worker off for a week!  Good Waffles is doing well.

Joe, I hope you can work out the vacation changes, with work and cat care.

Ado, NOOOOOO!  I hope you can get a reasonable re-schedule of your flight!

We were at the festival from Wednesday around two P.M., to today -- we pulled in around 1pm!  It was a lot of fun, -- lots of jamming, and visiting, -- making new friends, renewing old friendships and acquaintances (some ppl we see only once a year, at this festival!).  We helped with an hour-long "Welcome Jam" on Friday, and then with hour-long "Slow Jam" on Fri, Sat, and Sunday.  These were led by our bass player, and supposed to provide a place for beginners to jam without intimidation.  Playing with others (all doing the same song, y'all!!) is an important skill, honing chord changing, listening to rhythm, maintaining the tempo, and playing and singing at the same time!  E, our bass player, had booklets with a few songs printed, along with the chords, so we could pick and choose a few in the hour we played.

So, yeah, besides the Slow Jam, we jammed at LEAST twice a day, two to three hours at a time.  Visited.  We had two band practices (probably 1.5-2 hr each), and did our 50-minute program on Sunday at 9am.  It was not without mistakes, but actually went fairly smoothly, for all the new material we were doing!

The weather was BEAUTIFUL!  Maybe 80 degrees the first day, but after that, we had a marine layer each morning that burned off by 11 or so, and temps stayed around 76, with a NICE breeze.  Just perfect weather -- and not to cold at night, for jamming outside ppl's RVs!  We stayed out till midnight most nights, playing.

With helping with the Slow Jam, and band practice, we didn't get to hear any of the other bands, except one: Seth Mulder and the Midnight Run.  Man, were they GOOD!!  Excellent musicians, and had great harmonies and good song arrangements.  We chatted a bit with them after their last set, yesterday at the end of the festival.  Nice ppl!

We stayed Sunday night, after the festival was done.  There were still about 30 rigs in the campground, scattered around, and I guess we all had the same idea, for about 15 of us ended up at our friend J's area, for a fairly large jam, from around 8 till 1030.  With that many ppl playing, it takes awhile for a song to make its way around the circle, but everyone did a good job keeping things going!

It's always sad to pack up and leave, though, after the festival is over.  We're resting now, getting ready for the next one, I suppose, LOL!

Have a good evening!

Oh, and LuLu is doing well.  She ate well while we were gone (per cat-sitter), and when we arrived home, she was bright, and asking to eat.   She was her usual vocal self, though not like preop, going to the litter box often, and with frequent vocalizations.  Now she seems to go with a purpose, do her duty, and leave -- all more normal than before.  Thank you all for your concern. 🙂
