Good morning!
Hi Joe, hope you have a good week.
After a weekend of a bit lowered humidity, we're back to the usual Summer head and humidity with highs in the low 90's.
Feeling unproductive right now but that's my usual for Monday after I've worked. Will take it easy but hopefully make a gym run later.
Have a great day.
Another pleasant day here in the 70s. It rained yesterday morning, not a lot, but enough to settle the dust and wash some pollen out of the air. I picked up a pizza, wings, and salad last night for dinner. It was pretty tasty, but the prices are creeping up. I also got a thumb splint for my right hand. My thumb has been sore for a couple of weeks. I've tried using it at a minimum, and taking ibuprofen. The splint helps a lot, but does get in the way. I got a new audio book from the library, but when I try to listen, I keep falling asleep. The author has a soothing voice.
I got a new trellis for the demo garden, but it's so large I need help to set it up, and dh just left for his PCP appointment for a check up. And I need the pickup to transport, and that's what he usually drives.
Fajitas sound good. Perhaps I'll make those for dinner tonight. I made some 2 weeks ago with a pepper from the garden, but there aren't anymore ready, so I'll have to buy some. I need to go out and do some trimming in the garden and fill up the garden refuse tote. I did get the paper recycle taken out, and the cardboard flattened( they won't pick it up if it isn't). We keep a small tote by the back door and toss all the cans and plastic in it.
As usual, the kitchen needs cleaning up. Sigh. That is one chore that I despise, because it never seems to last.
Hello all!
We just got home from the Summergrass Bluegrass festival. We arrived Wednesday, 2:30pm. Had good jams every evening, and a few during the day (if it wasn't too hot). Temperatures, for the most part, were good: 85-ish the first two days (humidity 55%), cooling a little on the weekend to 81 degrees. Just had a great time picking, renewing friendships, meeting new ppl, and doing music.
Our band performed the Sunday morning gospel hour, and we were glad it was well-received (we are not a traditional bluegrass band, but a little eclectic). We did one a capella song that was really fun to do: three parts. A friend had requested we do How Great Thou Art, and we complied (so, last-minute change to the set list!).
We have some plans coming up: a trip to Palm Desert with our friend P, to see friends performing at a steakhouse there. And, made plans to meet up with friends at the upcoming South State 48 festival, at the Carlsbad-By-the-Sea motel, which will mainly feature jamming, jamming, and more jamming!
We discovered the dog (chihuahua-Pomeranian mix) likes pineapple popsicles!
OK, better get to unpacking. I have read today's posts but was remiss in keeping up with the daily posts while we were gone. Hope you all are well.
Have a good evening!

Stars that was a funny misreading. Sounds like a productive day
Hi Abbnurse
Tweety glad it was a good day
Decided to skip church yesterday to get some things done. Went out to do a little more bird watching, as I probably won't get the chance next Sat due to a dentist appointment. Went grocery shopping and baked cornbread and made vegetable fajitas for the week. Got in some exercise too
Cat seems to be doing better, last few days have seen more vomiting and less appetite but last night she started doing better. Perhaps it was the hairball medication, though it was a bit of a struggle to get her to take it
Today should be a pretty ordinary day at work and after work. Will need to call the church where my uncle's funeral is being held next week to make sure it will be open the day before so the flowers can be delivered
Going to be nice here, mid 70s, no rain expected
