Good morning!
Joe, hope you have a decent day.
Dianah, that sounds like a fun day.
Off until Thursday. Taking Slowbro to his routine three-month eye exam for his glaucoma. They just started opening up the lobby again and require a mask. Maybe I'll meet the vet that has been treating my dog for over two years.
Otherwise routine day off.
Have a great day.
Joe, too bad about your choir. Perhaps next Winter when the holidays approach there will be renewed interest. Knitting gets easier as your piece of work get bigger. It can be a struggle to work with newly cast-on stitches. Big needles and big yarn are easier to learn with, too. Soon you'll be making us all socks, LOL.
NoStars, that really is a tragic story about the grandmother and granddaughter. I think there is more abuse occurring than many realize. And I think a lot of people who abuse drugs, including alcohol, are treating the pain of that trauma. Just my 2 cents.
Tweety, what a novel idea, to meet your vet in person! I am hoping when Angus is due for his next check-up, that I can go in with him and not have to sedate him. I hate that.
I spoke with a small family new to our country and tried unsuccessfully to get them to agree to a polio booster. Sigh. They did get covid vaccines so I guess there's that.
Temp will get up to 80 today, but the breeze makes it tolerable. I guess I should be thankful about working in an air-conditioned office. I think I will pick up grocery store chicken for dinner. I only had the oven on for 30 minutes last night and that still seemed too much.
We found out this morning that Death Valley had flooding over the weekend, washing out some roads and water mains. We are planning on going there in October to support our eldest and his wife at a fundraising bike ride for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. I hope repairs can be made, but it's only 8 weeks away. Bah.
Dianah, that sounded like a fun, but tiring weekend. And interesting. I can't imagine what it was like for women, many of them mothers, to camp, cook, do laundry and raise children in those times. Especially in long dresses with long sleeves.

I poked through the little mercantile, and looked through the patterns. Talked with one of the ladies attending to the mercantile, and found out she teaches classes on historical costuming. She advised me to first take the class to make a corset (rigid stays and all!), then follow with others to make the historical costumes: under-chemise, the fitted bodice, under-bustle, over-skirt, and possibly a petticoat. Whew!! And she wore them all! I just wanted a simple bodice and skirt (sans corset and bustle, etc). She said she will add me to her email list, for alerts on classes. I am not 100% sure I want to take this project on (honestly, making and wearing the corset does not appeal to me!!), will think about it.
Tweety, hope SlowBro's appt went well.
Joe, even if choir disbands for awhile, keep singing!
We have leftovers tonight, which is fine with me: easy preparation! I do have a little left of Ugly Cake, we may finish it tonight.
It was 98 degrees today. Still lots of puffy clouds (some gray) over the mountains, and our favorite camping area has 50% chance of possible rain over the next 3-4 days.
I have been a slug today, kinda recovering from yesterday. Tomorrow I will need to get to the grocery store for a few things.
Have a good evening!

Dianah I usually just eat the cornbread by itself
NJ22 that's a pretty long run
Stars that is a sad situation for that girl
Ado choir will be starting up again for us too, hopefully
J wasn't feeling well yesterday, tired and a headache, so we decided not to do lunch and will try for dinner on Fri. I think he's tired from doing all this stuff for this elderly friend of his. Hopefully he's still being adherent with his medications
Yesterday was quieter, had laundry in the morning, then church then cooking. Found out our alto is leaving the church, and our soprano hasn't been around in a few weeks, so I think our choir is probably kaput. We might do stuff like solos and duets and such instead
Did more knitting and seem too have finally mastered the knit stitch Will work on the purl stitch next. Exercised last night too
This week will have another coworker off all week, hopefully it won't make things too crazy
Have a doctor's appointment after work, otherwise it should be a quiet day
More rain is expected but it shouldn't get past 80
