Hi I am a 37 year old mom to 4(17,10,8,4) my husband and younger 3 children are all ready for mom to go to school.
You see I have been homeschooling my children since the oldest was in 2nd grade. Next school year all but the oldest are going to public school for the first time. The oldest is finishing his final year in homeschool.
as I said everyone is all for me going to get my ADN(associate degree in Nursing) except my 17 year old he said I am being selfish and not thinking of what it will cost everyone.
My husband is all for this and is very supportive. I guess I need to hear from others that are going through school with teen and youngers in the house. I need moral support. I feel really guilty about this but this has been my dream since I was 3 years old.
Advice,complaint,moral support all are welcomed.
thanks Nurses and Furture need to stick together.

I just wanted to say GOOD FOR YOU!!!
I am the mom of 3 sons (2, 4, 8) and 2 foster sons (13,15) and let me tell you they all support me. How dare your son not support you, spoiled brat.....lol
He will get over it. It is just like that with kids, they don't like change. Instead of seeing how this will make you happy, he is only worried about how it will affect your time with him. Just reassure him that you will still be there for him when he needs you and on the same token encourage him to be more independant. He is a young adult!
Jean.... Welcome!
I think It's wonderful that you have decided to return to school and pursue your dream!
You will find that there are a lot of us in the same boat as you!
It's not going be easy but it is not Impossible! With cooperation from everyone in the family, and some creative time mangement... YOU CAN DO IT!
