Mohawk RPN January 2015?

World Canada CA Programs

Published

Hi!

i applied for January intake of Mohawk RPN program. I'm waiting to hear from admissions.

I was told I would hear back by the end of august but that is not the case. So I'm wondering when you guys heard back from there and when I can expect to hear back?

In high school I took uni courses so I added 10% for college. I have an 87.6% average.

For my hoae I got:

aa 56/75 84.46 normalized

ns 45/60 67.87

rc 30/35 45.25

sp 38/45 57.31

via 69/90 104.71

im just wondering what grades they look for competitively and I don't really know how to read my hoae results. thanks for your help in advance!

Any help is appreciated!!!

Thanks philvane! I'm wondering whether we will need it for this week?

There's an A&P Online section showing in elearn but I'm not sure if it's already uploaded or if you need to register an e-book first? In addition I think the online course is an optional, additional resource (ie. we aren't graded on it)

Whew, I'm honestly pretty confused with all the e-stuff, this wasn't a thing when I was last in school, and that was just a couple years ago

I've always said eLearn itself could've been another course. But don't worry, you will get used to it in no time and it'll be second nature. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

That's correct, philvane.. the online module is just a supplementary resource.

I just did packages one, two and three for A&P today. ...took around 4 hours BTW.... anyways, I just used the textbook. Didn't need any of the online extra stuff at all. I'm not too much of a fan of any of the online stuff and see myself doing everything the 'old fashioned' way. :p Hey, whatever works! But if you don't get the A&P online thingy yet I wouldn't worry. Like I said, I did everything without using it! :)

So i shouldn't worry about getting it? If its just additional practice as opposed to everyday assigned work.

It's completely up to you! If you think you'd use it go for it! But if you don't get it...I'm just saying its easily done without. When you look at A&P's content menu and click read....it just says utilize your textbook for the packages. And our teacher said everything on our tests is from this packages.....so I don't think you really need it.

Hi Julles, are you still here?

I'm just wondering what the low-fidelity simulation is all about. Do you remember well enough to give a step-by-step on what's going to happen? We were provided with a form with a character called Jordy Febut and also advised to refer to the rubric for Shoulder/Hip which will be on the OSCEs. I assumed we were going to be practicing on a dummy while being filmed. Then I looked to the following week in the Lab schedule and it seems like we are role playing. Are we supposed to memorize this character's situation and act it out in the lab? Do we have to do the entire Gordons and full body MSK assessment?

I'm confused and scared and frustrated. I hope you're still out there

Thanks

That's the entire point! :p We are given the brief info on our "patient" before we enter the room. Anything we've learnt the last eight weeks is fair game. Make sure you know the fowlers position, 30 degrees lateral position, musculoskeletal assessment, how to document ISBAR, pain assessment, how to conduct an interview. Etc. The entire point is to see where we stand so far. It's not graded. It's a way for us to see our strengths and weaknesses. No one sees it except you, your partner and instructors. If you do badly don't worry! It's just to see where you stand vs our OSCE'S!!!

I'm lost when you say you looked at the following week and see that we are role playing..??

This week coming is week eight. When I click on week nine it's all about vitals. I don't see any role playing. Week eight there's a falls prevention case study. That's just for us. It's one of the tools we can use to prep for this weeks Sim Lab.

Not sure if I can post pics here but here is what I see for week 8, which confused me: CqAUZzq

Yea... it looks like I was confused between what calendar date each "week" actually pertained to. I was mainly looking at week 7 which was about OSCE prep, so I went hardcore on that, and I don't recall us having a week 7 in the lab yet so I thought the one next Monday (after reading wk) was going to be week 7. I went in this week and practiced interviews, pain assessment and MSK of shoulder and hip, but didn't re-practice all the transfers and positioning and stuff because it wasn't on the scenario. Yep, looks like I'm screwed. Let me pour myself another glass of this merlot and cry into it..

edit: My pic isn't showing, it was just a screen clipping of e-learn, but the problem was centered around the fact that I have no idea what week we're in. Thanks for the info though :)
