Hey Guys,

I am originally from Southern Illinois, and recently moved up to st louis and got a job at St Mary's in Clayton, anybody know anything about that hospital or a good place to work in the ER?

Welcome to St. Louis. I am not a nurse yet, but I will tell you my opinion on St. Mary's as a patient and a person who has had family/friends treated there. PM me and I will let you know what's up. I dont want to offend anyone who may be working there.

Welcome to St. Louis, nursebrandie28!

I'm not sure what type of ER you wish to work in, but the Level I trauma centers in the St. Louis area are Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. John's Mercy Medical Center, St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis Children's Hospital, and Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center. I suggest doing some research on these facilities to see what would be the best fit for you. IMO, all are excellent hospitals.

I am a recent graduate of University of Missouri-St. Louis, so I am unable to give you a RN perspective of any hospital (especially since I now reside in Southern California). I have worked at Barnes-Jewish as a tech and I enjoyed it there - very critical patients and an excellent facility to learn. Two of my classmates accepted positions at Barnes-Jewish in the ER and are doing well.

Good luck to you!
