Well I applied for license by endorsement to California. I though everything was going great because they issued my Temp license on 5/4/15 but now today I get a notice saying I'm missing an oral communication class and that I can't get my permanent license until I meet the requirement. Since it is only one class I checked on doing an online public speaking course with UoP. They are telling me it is a fully online class that lasts 5 weeks. Sounds great but I was wondering if the board would accept it and also has anyone else taken this course from UoP ? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

There is only one way to be sure and that is to ask the BON. Try to get a copy of the syllabus for them.

Did you take English Composition in college? That might count. I never took public speaking ever and I still got a CA license by endorsement. Honestly, don't know what I took that met that requirement but something fulfilled it.
I've heard public speaking mentioned a couple times now on this forum as missing education for California. For the record, my nursing school in California required a communications class "Fundamentals of communication" and there was no public speaking component.

I also recently received a letter stating i was missing this component as well. I took research and argumentation class as well as an ethics in communication class (this fulfilled the communication requirement for my first undergrad degree). I got the course description from my old school and will be sending it in. Anyone used these classes to fulfill this requirement?
Also, when i send everything in should i just email or send my mail?
thanks!
