MiraCosta Palomar Grossmont Fall 2018 ADN

Published

Hi all,

I am starting this thread for pre-nursing students that are applying for Fall 2018! I have 73-79 points depending on how well I do on my TEAS. I am not very confident in getting in, but I have my hopes up. Worst case scenario I will have my associates in biological sciences for spring 2019 and my points will be 78-84 which still are probably not enough. Someone give me some confidence! Haha.. Good luck to everyone!

Turned in applications for MiraCosta, Palomar and Grossmont today!! MiraCosta said we will know by the end of March 🙄 and Palomar and Grossmont said may 😬😧🤭

Thanks for the info! I'm running behind on my apps. I'm turning in everything on Wednesday; it's last day to do it. Procrastinator to the max over here!

Lol I waited towards the end too hopefully they have not started looking at any applications yet and wait for everyone to turn them in. How many points are you applying with?

Hi guys!! I applied at Mira Costa and Palomar for Fall 2018. I scored a 94.7% on my TEAS and my points are an 81-84 depending on how many points they give me for my TEAS. I've heard that they'll round my 94.7 up to a 95 which gives me 2 extra points so fingers crossed!!

I'm still worried an 84 isn't good enough though :(

Hi everyone! I applied to Mira Costa & Palomar as well. I have a 4.0 in the nursing core sciences, 3.8 in the pre-reqs, & my BA in Psychology. I scored an 89.3% on the TEAS (wish I had scored higher, but I was a nervous wreck taking that exam lol). Not exactly sure how many points I have. Hoping for the best for all of us! Glad that we have this thread to connect. Good luck everyone

Sounds like you should have a pretty decent amount of points! That BA will help a lot! Gosh I hope we all get in!!

Hey Guys!

I'm sitting around 83-87 points depending on life experience points. I'm hoping i'll be competitive with that but I'm concerned because I just got a call today about my English prereq the course that i had listed (an advanced english course at an advisor suggestion) was not satisfactory and that I would have to supply my AP credit as soon as possible. But since I've taken that exam more than 4 years ago I can't rush ship it and they said it'll take up to twenty days to get there . I've been in touch with mallory but I still don't know. I would really hope that if this was the difference between being accepted or not they'd grant me a conditional acceptance until my official report gets in.

Hey! So i thought id just give a full outline of my application for anyone who's interested or might be in the future.

I have 10 points from a previous bachelor's degree.

5 points from relevant work experience/Current allied health certification (CNA)

20-25points from science GPA depending on whether or not my retakes were accepted.

13 points from the fixed set (B in Public Speaking/A in Psychology...math bypassed ENGl AP credit)

1-2 points for life experience (worked for last month of prereqs and personal/family matters)

1 point for documented proficiency in a foreign language

30 points for the teas

Totaling anywhere from 80-86 depending on how the committee scores it.

Hope this helps anyone as nervous as I am

MCC should be sending out acceptance/denial letters within the next week or so, right? I'm getting really impatient! haha

Has anyone heard anything? I know Grossmont sent out some acceptance emails yesterday, but I didn't get anything.

Nothing here yet ;(

Okay, so it's not just me haha
