Hi all,
I am starting this thread for pre-nursing students that are applying for Fall 2018! I have 73-79 points depending on how well I do on my TEAS. I am not very confident in getting in, but I have my hopes up. Worst case scenario I will have my associates in biological sciences for spring 2019 and my points will be 78-84 which still are probably not enough. Someone give me some confidence! Haha.. Good luck to everyone!

I'm applying at Mira Costa and Palomar for spring 2019. I haven't taken the teas exam but will have between 84-86 points when I apply. I've read other forum posts and talked to nursing students and it seems anything above 84 is competitive. Good luck!
PS I have a college degree, language credits, 4.0 science, 3.0 fixed GPA, a few life points and volunteer experience. I am confident I will score above an 80% on the TEAS.

Hi! I was looking for a place to chat with others applying for the Fall 2018 ADN program. I'm a 10 min drive from Grossmont, so I'm applying there. I think Palomar and MiraCosta are just too far a commute. I was considering City and Southwestern, but I don't know if the application dates are the same.
I am estimating 85 points. 92% on TEAS, 4.0 science, 3.8 fixed, BA in social work, a few life experience points (single mom, working during pre-req's).
Good luck everyone!

I am applying to Grossmont and the BSN program at WGU. I have 84 points. Fingers crossed!
It sounds like my friends from school have mid 80s as well. You guys will be fine I think! I'll probably get in the next round or two. FYI SDSU has ongoing teas tests and you can call this number to schedule:tel:(619)594-5216. Good luck to you guys; I'm submitting applications next week!
My Grossmont application went in today. Good luck everyone!

I just applied to Grossmont with 79 points; I am not sure if that will be enough, but I am remaining positive and working on beefing that number up in the meantime. I have a 4.0 in science, 3.9 in fixed set, a 93 on TEAS, as well as my CNA and a life point for my veteran status. Wishing everyone the best of luck that the nursing gods will be in our favor!
Gosh, you would think you would have higher points with all that. Great job. Fingers crossed for you!

Hey guys! I just wanted to wish you all the best of luck. This process is so grueling! Having not made the cut not once, but twice (ouch!) I'm back in the ring. Hopefully the third time is the charm. The last two semesters I applied were very competitive, but this past Spring 2017 (the one semester I DIDN'T apply... ) looked a little more easy. When I got my most recent rejection letter from Miracosta, it actually said that it was a very competitive cohort for Fall 2017. I have high hopes this semester!

Hi everyone I will be applying to MCC,Palomar and Grossmont as well as 2 school in ORange county. Took my TEAS today did ok but wished I did better lol puts me at about 87 points for MCC I'm actually wishing to get pick as an alternate for spring 2019, but will take anything of course lol. Is nice to have a group of plp to share some anxiety Lol
For MCC does anyone know if you have to have the sociology/psychology and communication/speech. It says must be completed to received points in the fixed gpa. Meaning? If you have those classes they are extra to help your gpa? But not required? Thanks
