Mira Costa Palomar spring 2018 ADN program

Published

Hey there! I am creating this thread for all applicants to Mira Costa and Palomar for the Spring 2018 semester. Hopefully we can cheer each other on and take some of the waiting anxiety away together. My scores were somewhere between 78-84 points with a teas score of 78.6%. As you can see, VERY average. Can anyone enlighten me on the difference between Palomar, Mira Costa, and Grossmont? Grossmont does currently have its own page, but the more informative sources the better! Thanks and good luck to everyone!

Someone from my hospital received a denial email on Wednesday for Palomar..... I'm SOOOOO CONFUSED.

Aminah do you know what their points were? My guess is that they have 3 tiers based on points: accepted, possible waitlist for the people that don't accept their place, and the ones that are low enough not to make the waitlist. I'm just tired of waiting. A simple no would be suffice. I would be bummed but at least I could focus my efforts elsewhere

What?! Now i am more worried they never even got my app. I had to take it to a mail room om the last day and leave it with someone, per the note on the nursing office door! Ugh.

orientation is on November 28th, about 2 weeks from now. Palomar isnt that great at replying or calling back. I went in person to talk to someone a couple weeks ago to get my answer, unfortunately. I received my acceptance letter last week on Saturday. I wish u all the best and dont give up.

Just got my rejection letter from Gail. Well, at least I can stop checking my email every 30 seconds. I will be applying for fall semester!

Got mine too í ½í¸© I will be reapplying I wanna see if I will make it in time to retake a science class and up my GPA

Was it an official decline?

I received my official decline, too. Bummer. I read that someone said in a prior post that they got their points total from Palomar, but the email said they wont give them out. I wish I could find out what they totaled my points as, as my math was a higher level statistics, rather than intermediate algebra. Now i wonder if they didnt accept that, and if so, that means I would lose all fixed set. Ughhh. On to expensive Brightwood, studying for the HESI and more waiting.

I have not received my official decline yet! I'm getting frustrated because she already told me she didn't think I was competitive enough but now people are getting official declines and I haven't yet! I just want to be able to move forward! If anyone is interested grossmont has a cardiovascular technologist program that sounds amazing! They are the only program in San Diego and it's a wait list vs point system :-) I'll be putting in my application after Thanksgiving. Most people it says get hired on from their clinicals and almost all the cardiovascular techs in San Diego are graduates of grossmont! :-) they make approximately 70k in San Diego so pay is good and the program cost is about 5k

Finally got my decline letter. :( I'll be resubmitting for Fall. Hope we all get in this next round.

So I had talked to Gail in the beginning of the year about math because I have both algebra and statistics. I asked what class they would take and she said that they'll take any math, algebra and upper level. She said that she'll try to help out and take the math class that you did your best in to give you more points. So I thought that was nice. The only thing that sucked for me was that both my algebra and statistics I got a C so it didn't matter for me. :/ Hope my answer helps. That also applies for your English classes as well.

Don't worry, I haven't gotten a rejection yet either...
