Military wives/nurses

Published

Just wondering if there are military wives out there struggling to find jobs close to thier hubby.......................Any advice on what to do?

Many years ago I did find a job near to where my DH was based, he was in the Navy so we lived in married accomodation. It was pretty easy to find work and I met a couple of other nurses in my hospital who were in the same situation so it was helpful

We just PCS'd in July, right after I graduated, but I found a job out here already. Are you a new grad? I know it's so hard for any new grad right now, let alone when you have to move to a place you don't know. Where are you stationed?

we are in so cal and i am a new grad.

Moved to here for hopefully more answers to your question

Oh yes....you will struggle to find a job in SoCal as a new grad at this time. I lucked out - graduated in '06, moved with Navy hubby to SoCal and found a job (in L&D) within three weeks, before even passing boards. Jobs for new grads are scarce everywhere in the country during this recession, and California has been hit very hard. It's not impossible to find work, but you will need to be flexible with your choice of specialty and persistent, since it may take a very long time to land something, anything. I wish you all the best.

Thank you..................
