Anyone know if you can join the military with previous disciplinary history? My license is unencumbered. Discipline is in the past. Thanks in advance.

I don't know the answer to this best to speak to a recruiter who can answer your questions. I know my son is planning on entering the Marine Corps upon graduation from High School and he was advised by a recruiter to "Keep your nose clean and stay out of trouble."

Ha!!!
You are giving me flashbacks. I served 8 years on active duty as a paratrooper in the Army. I presume that you are talking about joining the service as a nurse and therefore commissioned officer. In such a case you must apply for and be granted a security clearance which is subject to an investigation by the NSA. They find out everything & they are allowed to via the Patriot Act, a zillion other laws dealing with national security and the oodles of releases you will sign. So be honest with them. I know of no prohibition from allowing folks who had disciplinary actions with a BON precluding military service. In fact a very long time ago I was given the choice of the Army or Jail. Times have changed but I'm guessing if you are honest and they need nurses bad enough you are in if that's what you want.
