Midwestern State University Applying for fall 2014

Published

Hi guys!

I am thinking about applying for the program at MSU this feb. to start in the fall. I have been a student there before but am transferring back. I have 3 more classes to take which I will take there this spring. right now I have calculated my points to be 48.5 which I could easily mess up adding the points since I find the system confusing at times or I'm just extremely stressed about it lol.... I am wondering if it is worth applying, or to wait one more semster. Anyone else applying soon? I am especially nervous, I am ready to get into a program and get this over with!!! Comments and encouragment greatly appreciated (: And its nice to get to know some of the potential students I could possibly be with (:

Hi!

I'm applying for Fall 2014! I'm going to apply the first week of march after I'm done with microeconomics and psych d. that I'm retaking to boost my gpa.

How is Wichita falls and the Midwestern state? I'm excited and nervous as well.

I have been emailing and asking the nursing dept. questions regarding admission into the program. Do you know if the HESI is a major factor in being accepted or is acceptance just based off of the point system?

Brittward I just added up all my points and if I'm correct I will have 72 when I apply.

I'm in the midst of taking Microbiology and History that I plan on getting a A in.

During Wintermester I will take Chem 1405 online with lab online I also plan on getting a A in that class as well, I emailed and asked if online chem with lab will be acceptable. I Pray it is so I can have that class towards my points. I'm also taking Economics and Psych D. in the spring in a 8 week session I also plan on getting A's in those classes too. So if I take chem, economics and psych d. with a A I will be good! I also have to get a A in my micro and history but mainly my micro since it is the HARDEST class I have taken. Other than that I will be on the right path.

Keep me updated with the outcome of your remaining classes! :)

Well I am having issues with the transfer.... are you currently enrolled at MSU or transferring? Microbiology class is already full and I cant register till they get my final transcripts frorm the semester in progress :/ so I will have to take Micro in the summer. I am frustrated with it. I hope to still apply but if not I may be a semster behind.

Hey brittward!

I am not a current student at Midwestern State I am currently enrolled at Tarrant County Community College. Do you know how taking micro in the summer and not spring effect your points? Did you add them up to see where you will stand?

Hi! Does anyone know if Midwestern State makes us take Chemistry with a lab? or is Chemistry without a lab fine?

Hi! I believe you she to take chemistry with a lab. I would email them they respond QUICKLY and double check. Does anyone know if hesi scores are a huge factor in the admission process?

hi guys, i applied to get into the program in spring 2014 but didn't get it. i transferred to mwsu anyways and really hope i get in next fall,

brittward 48.5 is a little low cuz despite what it looks like the competition to get in is high. last time when i applied i had 57 points and i got into the waiting list. now i have 69.5 points and the advisor told me that i have a better chance of getting in this fall

Thank you for the information! I will have 70 points when I turn in my application after my 8 week session courses. I'm eager to get my hand on the application so I can turn it in!

Do you have any information about the HESI test? I made a 82.8 overall with a 90 in math and 81 in the English composite score. Does the test scores have to be extremely high or just the minimum?

I'm a CNA so i know that will be 1 point snd km taking chemistry this semester so that is about her extra point towards my application. I saw that Nurses Aid is half a point but CNA is a point. I wasn't for sure which is specifically for certified nurses aide i was thinking it was the CNA for a point towards admission.

Also i applied to ADN schools for admission cheaper price with intentions to bridge over. Is MWSU program expensive?

Thank you for the info!.

did you make 80 in all the english sections required? if you did then you are fine. it doesn't matter how high you score in the hesi. the most important factor is the total number of points you have. Mwsu is cheap compared to other schools that's why students leave surrounding big cities to come and complete their bachelor here thus increasing the competition to get into the program. from the look of it i think you will be fine. me too i cant wait to reapply again. i hope to get in this time. i really need to

I made a 78 in Vocabulary and a 86 in reading and 80 in grammar 81.23 English Composite Overall. On the website it says a 80 Overall Composite so I was thinking the overall English HESI score is looked at.
