Howdy, yall! So glad to find this website!

I graduated high school in 1987. I immediately enrolled in college persuing a nursing career. I lacked maturity and discipline and quickly withdrew. I tried over the years to go back but marriage, kids and life took over. Six years ago, my stepfather passed away and it became glaringly apparent that my mother had dementia. I was/am her caretaker until I had to move her to memory care. Then, my father developed Lewy Body and I became HIS caretaker until he passed recently. Dealing with this awful disease has put some of the most terrific nurses in my path and has sparked a fire in me to go back. I apply for the nursing program in August 2017 to persue my ADN. I am very grateful to have the opportunity to finish what I started so long ago. Age is just a number, right?

Age is just a number, right?

The higher the number gets, the more aches I have.

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

You're probably just a few years older than me (I was high school class of 1990), and I am about to have my first child. lol. So yes, it's all about perspective! :D If I can do this, you can do that.
