Does anyone have an older version and feel its as good as the new surface pro 3? Considering purchasing an older version.

I'm not sure about the Surface Pro 3 but Surface Pro 4 is AMAZING. My productivity is off the roof.

I use the OneNote and pen features for note taking, ideas, todo tasks, etc. Since everything is saved in the cloud I can jump on my desktop computers and continue where I left off.

TIP: OneNote has a clipper extension for Google Chrome. Share anything you like on the Web!

If you plan on sticking with the Surface Pro 3 I recommend upgrading the pen as the sensitivity level is BETTER. (It will feel more natural.)

WARNING: The older models are NOT THE SAME as today's models.

Oh there's a 4. I'm even more behind lol I just wasn't sure the major difference with older ones and such.

I have the Surface Pro 3 with the new Surface model type cover and the new Surface Pen. If you want to pay full price, then get the latest model. Otherwise you can get the Surface Pro 3 for a discount.
