Hello,
I am new to the forum and really need some advice! I have been contemplating about taking Microbio over the summer and I am not too sure if I should. I have done well in my science classes in the past and Microbio is the last pre req that I have for nursing school. If I take it over the summer, I can apply for Spring 2010. If i take it in the fall, I cannot attend until Fall 2010. I am really hoping to earn an A. What should I do? Should I wait or just take it now to get it over with. GPA matters for the school I am applying to. Please advice.
Thanks!
I will take a Micro class in summer I for six weeks. I think that it will be great to go each day and really study intensely for six weeks straight through!! I took five classes last summer and I loved studying so intensely and it really made time pass quickly!! I think I get a rush out of being up against time and really being pressured to get it all done in a short amount of time. I just want the summer to go by fast so that I can start my nursing classes this August
I am taking a 10 week Micro as well. I have two boys but we all adapt. You should be fine if you stay organized and on top of the notes/lecture. My reg. scheduled courses are on a quarter system (12 weeks) so I figured 10 weeks should not be that much of a difference. Go with your gut: if you believe you can do it then do it!
Good luck!
Do you need to work? Do you have children? Are you taking any vacations or do you have any big commitments that will interfere with your ability to devote attention to Microbiology?
I took A&P2 over the summer. If you're worried about committing enough time to the class, make notecards and carry them with you wherever you go. Look at them when you have a few minutes here and there. The time adds up.
I wish I could have taken Microbiology over the summer. I took it during the regular school year with four other classes, in addition to what essentially worked out to 25 hours-per-week of work outside of classes and homework. It was difficult. On the other hand, I took A&P2 last summer by itself while working 20 hours per week at the absolute maximum, and it worked out great.
Good luck to you.
