Whoa........you must have been in class with me! I had him, too last fall. He was tough to understand, wasn't he? There is one other prof that teaches it at OU occasionally, but it's mostly SW. Personally, I think you should jump in again with him. The tests are are going to similar if not the same. You know what to expect with the questions.
Sit close to the front, and just take notes like mad.
So, must you take the class at OU? Are you getting your degree there?

I think if i retake it, it has to be taken at OU again. BLahh... You must have been in my class. Did you sit up front by that older woman who always interrupted class? It was crazy. I don't think I'm gonna retake it now. Maybe later. I just want to finish my chemistry so I can start taking the BSN courses. I'm taking an online computer class this fall. I'm gonna take Chem 104 in winter. Did you take that already? If so which prof. did you have?
When I was in Engineering school, I had an Advanced Engineering Math teacher (toughest math class in the curriculum) that had a major stutter problem. I swear to God, the first class right in the middle of it I got up and walked out, shaking my head. I wasn't the only one. I wrote a long letter to the Dean stating what a joke it was and the person that hired that instructor should be fired, along with the instructor. How do you hire a TEACHER that can't be understood? Seriously. I know there's a shortage of nursing teachers, but come on. Someone needs to draw a line somewhere.
HEy there!
I took Micro with Dr. Walia last winter semester...
When the semester started, his mother passed away and he flew to India for the funeral and he was gone for roughly 2 weeks. We had visiting professors from all over to teach the class, and it was pretty rough to keep up with these professors jumping around and never having anything set in stone as to when the exams were or what chapters they were even on.
His accent was tough at first, but I adapted to it. I notice alot of people complaining about him, but I actually loved him. He doesnt spoon feed you material, instead its up to you, which I think alot of people aren't used to this style of teaching.
If you wish to retake it for a second time, yes it HAS to be at OU for it to count (OU's policy i guess?)
I just made sure I read the assigned chapters more than look over his notes. There are also old exams floating around which helped me a great amount to study from.
It is a rough class, as you know, but a little work and some reading it shouldn't be too bad.

Just wanted some advice. I took Microbiology at OU last fall and I got a C in it. The instructor, SW, had a thick accent and was very hard to understand. It was hard to understand what to focus on in lectures because he jumped all over the place. Just wondering if anyone took microbiology with him and would anyone recommend repeating it?
