We just finished our unknowns at UNT. I didnt figure mine out until 2 days before because I could barely get them to grow on plates after I got them separated! On the Friday before they were due (Due on Monday) I asked the lab coordinator to help me out and even SHE couldnt get them to grow...what a mess! My lab instructor had to spike my original culture with extra bacteria THREE TIMES before it actually worked.
Talk about frustrating!!!

Hi Jenny!
I'm spiking Mikey's drink at the VFW with Willie and Wilhemina to see if they grow at body temp...:) One of my unofficial tests...!
I've got bacillus and streptobacillus (both Gram +). I'm just glad I saw 2 different isolated colonies on my petri plate. Hallelujah!
I'm sure you'll do just fine. A lot of people had to do their streak plates over again. I did forget to write my number down on the list. Doh! I think I wrote it on my plates.
See you in class! My goal is to laugh myself to death before the class is over. He is hilarious sometimes!!
Adios,
Alex
I was told by an advisor at Macomb when I first started prereqs that BIO 240 would be taken by Wayne and UofD. According to both of theiir websites, they both take this as a transfer.
We're taking right now..couldn't you tell? :)
Do any of these statements ring a bell:
In your next life as a (fill in the blank)
You'll be off to Valhalla (i.e. dead)
Mikey, Willie, Wilhemina, or any other older styled names
Turkeys and chickens are referred to as frozen sparrows
That man is hilarious, but I do respect the fact that he really enjoys what he does. You can't say that about many teachers half his age. He takes a little getting used to at first test wise, but once you get used to it, it's OK.

P.S. Jenny, stop loitering in laboratories!! :)
OMG Alex! I laughed so hard I almost woke up my kids!!! What do you come straight home from class and hop on the computer!?!?!? (me too! with a bowl of ice cream!!!)
Cawhappy, I start the nursing prog in Jan. we have one of your classmates in our micro class with Hoffman X right now... he said you guys are going to Martha T. Berry...? Or is that a different clinical class....?? I know for my registration, I had three different clinical choices to choose from.

(who is going to vallhalla, and in her next life as a microbe will infect her lab partner........... right Mr. X??)
Hi! I took patho micro at CC this past year and got a B. I had an adjunct professor. She teaches one class like every other year. Her name is X and she was "okay" Thank heavens for the extra credit and lab portion or I would have been toast. Her tests were way out there. She honestly didn't know how to teach. She just stood there and read word for word from her notes. It was VERY difficult learning, but it is doable. Good luck!

Has anyone taken Pathogenic Microbiology at Macomb CC? I am registered to take it next semester and was just wondering how difficult it is, what the exams are like etc...
