Microbiology and babies?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello! I have a question. I am a student who has just completed my first two semesters of pre-reqs for entering the nursing program, and I was planning on applying to the program this fall. Well, my husband and I were surprised to learn that I fell pregnant with our third child, so my college plans have been pushed back a bit. My question is, I still need Microbiology and as of right now I plan to take that in the fall as my only class, but I am due with our son October 10th.... basically mid semester. It's a two day a week class in the evening and my due date lies at the very beginning of our fall break, so as long as he cooperates the timing works out very well. Do any of you have any experience with having a baby during school or any advice relating to this? Is it a bad idea? Thanks in advance for any input!

You're only taking the one class? Should be fine- it would be a total time commitment away from home similar to someone who is active in their church.

Can you take it online? My son was due early may of 2012 right on finals week 😣 I still went to school and made it through. I talked to my teachers and the worked with me. As long as you have support at home so when u have a baby you can go to class and have understanding teachers who will work with you. You can do it! Good luck and congratulations!

My school doesn't have an option for online classes that have labs, so that's a no-go. I have read reviews on my teacher and people say she is really great, so hopefully she will be understanding! Thanks for the good luck!!!

Time management, and support! Its the same with a baby, with a toddler, or any age! I was and am able to go to school full time because of support, and the way I manage my time. I do put my child in day care, and I make sure I do everything I need to do before the end of the day, and continue after she's asleep. I'm taking a full load in the summer ( micro and anatomy 2) Bc I NEED to get it done. All in all everyone is different, but you can do anything you set your mind to. Good luck
