Microbiology and A&P I at CSN?

Published

Hey I am taking BIOL 251 and 223 at CSN for the Fall semester...who is with me? or for those that have taken it before any tips/resources/advice?

Super excited and can't wait to get started!

You're definitely in for a fun semester. I did both A&P 1 and honors micro last year. It keeps you busy, but is definitely doable. Best advice I can give you is to not let yourself fall behind. Both classes are lecture and lab, so there's going to be a lot of work. Make yourself a solid study schedule and stick to it. If you fall behind your study schedule by even one day, you'll have to work twice as hard to catch up. If you fall behind by a week, it may be close to impossible to catch up. As long as your time management skills are good, you'll be fine!

You should be fine if you manage your time well! I did AP2 and micro together and got as B and an A! One suggestion, get the Netters AP flascards from the bookstore. they helped me so much with memorizeing everything!

Thanks I will definitely look into these Flashcards...do you know about how much they run? What about these coloring books I keep hearing about are those useful?

Great tips I think that is where I kind of screwed up with BIOL 189...I tried to get into several study groups but it was fruitless...I have a very low tolerance for screwing around and it seemed the study groups I got in were more interested in talking about the club than test material. That and I didn't print out the power points...mainly due to the BF complaining about wasting ink ugh! This semester I am going to try my best to get into productive study group (kinda what I was hoping by posting on here) but I love the advice from those that have already waged the war :)

Thanks a ton!

yeah that is something I struggle with since I have 4 kiddos under 8 the youngest 2 being twins at (17 months) but in the past I did well keeping a written calendar so I am going back to that. Last semester I managed PHIL 101 On Tus BIO 189 T/TH, SOC 102 on Th, 189 L Wend PLUS Art 160 and Psy 101 online. With the schedule I am looking at right now I will have BIOL 223 M/W Lab M, BIO 251 T/TH Lab TH and Span 111 on Sat. I am pretty confident I can handle this course load I just really hope my BF doesn't give me crap this semester..it was tough working through that last semester.

Thanks for the tips!
