Miami Dade College Spring 2015 RN Program

Hi all!

I wanted to start a thread for all of the Spring 2015 MDC RN applicants. I finally finished all of my pre-req's, and have started studying for the NLN PAX RN exam. I am hoping this thread, like many other MDC threads of the past, can help us all to build friendships, support one another, and most importantly, help us through this difficult process. Welcome! :)

Hi I got excepted into the generic program at homestead campus and wanted to know who else did?

Congrats I'm still waiting... Do you mind sharing your gpa.

Thanks you...I have a 3.78 overall and my natural science gpa is a 4.0...yuremaa I hope you get your soon!!!

I will go to campus early tomorrow to complete steps 1 (turn in form) and step 2 (pay the $100).

I have an appointment Monday for step 3 background check at the coral gables location (This cost about $60).

I am calling tomorrow to make a doctors appointment for step 4 and 5. These two steps will probably take me the longest to finish.

Step 6: Cpr Renewal set for this Sunday at interamerican campus ($59)

Step 7: I signed up for session 2 of the bootcamp and the test taking strategies class ($75) Did anyone else sign up for this session?

Step 8: signed up for one year (24$)

Total for today: $318

I'm glad I set these things up but definitely hope step 4 and 5 is done easily without having to go to multiple different doctors.

Yuremaa! I thought of you every time I woke up last night (I'm so sick) because my heart raced whenever I thought of the nursing program. I prayed so much and I have faith a spot will open up! For those of you who are looking into re-taking the sciences classes: It is possible, but you'll have to do it at another school, such as FIU, Broward College or PBC. If you really need/want to raise that science GPA and have already tried to get permission from the department at MDC without luck, then you should probably consider other schools just to retake the science classes. Go easy on them, don't overload yourself with micro, chem, a&p (and their labs) all at the same time. Also, if you decide to retake them at FIU, remember that those same classes will be much harder compared to MDC. Good luck future nurses!

Another questions, I'm sorry to bother. If you already took them at MDC when you transfer again the credits drone fiu for example it will show as repeated. As per MDC they only let you take it 3 time meaning you can only repeat any 3 science classes.
