Miami Dade College Spring 2015 RN Program

Published

Hi all!

I wanted to start a thread for all of the Spring 2015 MDC RN applicants. I finally finished all of my pre-req's, and have started studying for the NLN PAX RN exam. I am hoping this thread, like many other MDC threads of the past, can help us all to build friendships, support one another, and most importantly, help us through this difficult process. Welcome! :)

Wowsers, you went through the FT or PT program working 2 FT jobs?

Hi Mary, a little late on this but do you still have the nursing lab bag and is it the one for FT generic lab option ?

Thanks , hope you are having a great Christmas :)

I went thru the FT program having 2 FT jobs and never got a C! So yay!!! I Do have the nursing bag but it's for the transitional program, I know they're different

How was your first week in the nursing program? All of you...

LOL no one will answer, this is the pattern of every thread each year!

Study, study, study. Read, read, read. That's the mood so far. Fundamentals it's the biggest monster so far because it's a lot of content. The key I guess is to be organized and focused... ah and Cuban coffee! Plan ahead guys ... this is no joke. 📚

First week , great so far but already behind due to some unexpected work demands. Ugggh, lots of studying this weekend ahead for me. I am actually looking forward to it though , need to make some headway.

Congratulations~! Whew !! Ok, I will wait and see if I can track down a FT nursing bag. Thanks:)

So, I started class on the 6th, I already passed a lab class on Thursday, (accelerated program), had a fairly simple test Friday, and have one coming up Monday, probably will be the most difficult thus far since its for fundamentals. The accelerated program is nice since we basically have the same professors for the whole year. Note that spring accelerated is different than Fall accelerated (they have a different set of professors). Anyway, you just have to get in a good study habit early on. You just get use to studying a few hours everyday, even if it's just reviewing what you just learned in class that day. In the program you should be working together and collaborating with your classmates not competing against each other. These are the people you will be with all year, and that you will possibly be working with when the program is over. So far so good, I love accelerated.
