Miami Dade College Spring 2016 nursing program admission

Updated:   Published

Good morning/night to all who are reading this,

I created this post in the hopes that all applicants applying for the nursing program at Miami dade submit their experience they have had so far and also submit any questions they might have. I'm currently applying for the accelerated option but would like to hear what others are doing in the part time and generic option. A little about me is that I have a BSN in health science (2014) and have taken all the prerequisites with the exception of A&P 2 (which I am retaking in summer b June 22).

Right now my biggest concern is the hesi a2 exam we have to take and making sure i ace it because my science gpa is not so hot right now. I have read prior posts and it seems like A&P is the most challenging section. Has anyone taken it as yet? Your advice would be greatly appreciated. Also I'm worried that after they evaluate my degree they might not take my science subjects and make me re do them ? ? . Has any one's transcript been evaluated yet?

Only your science classes

A&p1

A& thep 1 lab

A&p 2 and lab

there are 7 clases in total.

Misspichu are you applying for spring?

Yup! I just finished my last pre-reqs this Summer and was bummed I couldn't apply for this fall, what with no test requirement and all. Was *really* nervous these past four months dreading taking the HESI A2. It wasn't bad at all. There was even a power failure when I took the test last week because of the storm and we lost some time lol. But overall I'm pleasantly surprised, 93.71. I recalculated my application score just now and I should have a 96.2 ? Best luck to you all!!

Do you have 4.0 gpa As in all science?

Yes. I thank all my amazing professors. They are so great at what they do. Previously coming from another school, I can say MDC has one of the best professors and great class ratios. You can really learn when you're 1 in 50 vs 1 in 500 >.>

Hi!

I am so nervous!

I wonder when acceptances/rejection e-mails come out.

My current science gpa is 3.87 and I scored an 85.71 on the HESI.

I am hoping this is good enough since theres only 150 spots or so.

good luck to all!

Am nervous to you'll get in you have a good gpa and hesi score I should be the worried one I have a 3.6 science gpa and a 80.5 on the hesi

I'm hoping I will!

Just want it to be October already!

you have a great GPA! And are in the 80's I think you'll be alright!!

I heard not many people have been applying.

I spoke to the girls in the testing center and that the average scores they see are 72-74's.

I hope so too... That's not good that everybody is getting an average score it sucks... But think of it as October is next month so we find out next month

No definitely.

but if theres not many applying then even if you have a hesi score in the 70's everyone will be able to make it in!

its just nerve wracking cause idk how many have applied and knowing theres only 150 spots im always thinking the worst.

how i could have done better. But theres so little time

Just speak positive and that's what will come to you.. Think positive don't look back at what you could have done better just think of it as you did everything that you were capable of and that's what matters the most

I got a 98.7% on the HESI but I'm having difficulty figuring out the classes they use in the "Science GPA" calculation. Help?
